I would be much obliged for a connection to the boss man of Kalyani.
My friend in Coorg is also interested. So there could be the possibility of 2 vehicles being bought. One Zeta AT and One Zeta MT (or even Alpha MT) if the fancy strikes me, because this is meant to be a long term “keeper”.
@Shankar,

Hi Shankar

Helped my neighbor get a 2L discounts on a 2023 make AT

Credit goes to a friend who has a multi-brand car dealership with good connections with Nexa folks down South.

Reach out to Amar, 90358 44668.
Jayanagar Autos.

You can refer me(Dhruv).

He arranged for the Jimny to be driven from TN on TC plates and took care of the paperwork for Karnataka RTO registration

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Just finished 10K service on my Jimny. I am elated with the standard of service and customer interaction at Khivraj service center, OMR, Chennai. They don't usually get Jimnys in for service so they kind of fight amongs themselves to decide who gets to work on it. Total enthusiasm and they follow the service manual line by line.

I opted for a 0w40 oil this time. It is a fair bit more expensive than the 0w16 but Chennai summers are no joke and the vehicle will be used off road a lot. I wanted 5w30 but that was not available.

Only smiles with the Jimny so far. The only sour grapes are with MSIL management for the apalling treatment meted out to early adopters with the "Discount Dandya".

Please keep us posted regarding the engine behavior after the oil change. I am curious to know how much it will affect the engine response, fuel efficiency and heat management.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Its been two and half months and my Jimny has experienced just 600 kms of tarmac. Due to work schedule and need of bigger boot space to haul some stuff, Grand Vitara was preferred quite a few times in these two months, resulting in less odo reading on Jimny. But when ever I take it out, atleast couple of people ask about the model, cost and give positive feedback on the look and how it suits me. And I am not complaining at all.

One thing I noticed is the steering play in Jimny is pretty pronounced. The way I take razor sharp turns in my Figo, I can not do the same in Jimny. When coming out of our office parking space, there is a roundabout where people usually stand on the edge and will be chatting or having tea or smoking. With my Figo, I can take turn around that roundabout with exact precision. I can sense how many inches away is my car's LH front bumper corner from the person standing on edge of the road. But not the case with Jimny. I have to leave some extra space to be double sure that I am not hitting the person standing. Hopefully I will get better at handling the Jimny.

Couple of pics from today ..

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

I have been silently following this thread for quite some time and finally booked Jimny Zeta AT yesterday.
The dealer had only one White AT variant in stock. Hoping to take the delivery next week.
Jimny will share the garage with my modified Thar
Planning for extensive mods similar to Thar!

Congratulations on your booking. It will be interesting to see which car becomes your favourite over a period of usage .

By the way how much discount did you get? 2023 or 24 make?

@HTC, by design, at lower speeds, the Jimny's steering requires more 'twirling'. The slower steering is very helpful while you're offroad, where you don't want the car to have very sharp responses to every small steering input. So for city roundabout type driving, I would suggest you drive it well under its limits otherwise in the event you need to do a sharp correction (unfortunately all to common a requirement in our cities!) you will be doing a disconcerting amount of twirling! You will definitely get used to it and calibrate your inputs accordingly .

Maruti Jimny engine run in

7,000 km Engine run in by bhpian Wasco (New Suzuki Jimny in 2018)

Quote:
After finishing my run-in procedure of 7000 km of progressively rising revolutions per minute, shifting throttle position and increasing engine load, I have now sealed the deal with one mighty 70 km trip on the derestricted Autobahn.

What we found out:

Traveling speed for long distances lies between 120 and 135 kph. There is a sweetspot of engine torque, efficiency and still-bearable wind noise to be found within that margin.
This post was made in September 2019 by Germany based bhpian Wasco. The 5 door Jimny owners manual suggest engine running in for 960km.

Are we missing something?

A few Jimny owners are running in their engines for 3,000 km. Varying engine rpm between 1500 rpm - 2,500 rpm for the 1st 1000km.

You just can not expect the Jimny (a true-blue 4x4) to steer anywhere like a Figo (a proper sporty hatchback) They are both as different as chalk and cheese. In the same way your Figo can't off-road as well as the Jimny.

Is that 3 lakhs off the price?

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Apparently yes.

2023 Alpha MT black color without road tax & extended warranty. I believe the 163 sales count for Jimny in the month of Jan 24 will look better considering the sales count for February, which is expected to be released soon.
