That would be the Watt's linkage, in-place to prevent sideways movement.

Toyota and Suzuki's still have an advantage on reliability from Japanese engineering. Otherwise yes capability and performance desi's are even overtaking.

I'm curious to understand the technical aspects of the Intelli Turn feature in the Mahindra Thar RoXX. Can anyone explain how it works? Does it utilize a brake actuator to slow down the inside wheel or does it lock the differentials to enable tighter turn?
It is the brake's that are used to lock the inner wheel while tacking the turn.

Regular covers would affect, one would need perforated seat covers so that it does not block the air flow. Maybe even remove the OE one and then add the perforated cover.

Yes, adds to stability as well as manages sideways movement / force on the axle. It is an existing tech that has been applied on Roxx.

Since i am seeing various videos of the Thar 5D making its way to the dealers, any idea if the vehicle has been kept on display in Pune?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Which are the most value for money variants of Thar Roxx?

Requirement: Petrol/Diesel, Auto

I suggested MX3 Petrol Auto, which auto variant in Diesel is most VFM?

Yes, You are correct on P AT. For D AT, AX5L is the VFM @18.99 - This variant offers all the necessary features along with ADAS, EPB and 173BHP diesel engine.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Went to the local dealer to check the vehicle and was thoroughly impressed. My comparison was with my Thar 3D. The fit and finish, feel and everything felt premium.

I would be going ahead with AX7 D AT 4WD.

The dealer informed that the initial dispatches would be of the lower trims and petrol models only, not sure how true is this.

This would be a shocker, generally OEMs send out top spec'd versions in first dispatches.

Has the booking started ?

I am in a dilemma, heart vs head.
Kia Seltos vs Thar Roxx top Specd.

Having owned a Scorpio-N for 3 days and driven over 800 kms and previously owned a Creta and a Ford Aspire, I will say - Depends purely on your use case:

1. If your drive is 80% Mumbai city and 20% highways - get a Seltos. You will always be appreciative of the nimbleness, plushness and city-friendliness of the Korean.

2. If your plan on using your car for 40-50% highway drives to Lonavala and Igatpuri, I’d say: Get the Roxx. It has that feeling of indestructibility, presence and high-seating that you will enjoy on every long trip! But, it’s not a quick lane-changer or as city-friendly as the Seltos.

Consider also, how your driving pattern may change over the next 7-8 years.

Have fun!

Thanks, it will be 70% Highway and 30% City for sure, even more Highway maybe. Have a farmhouse in Alibag and roads are really bad in some areas, where I used to think Ertiga will scrape even with 2 passengers.

Major concern is how will elders get in, might keep a small table inside.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Mahindra is prepping for faster delivery, is my bet. They took interest from various people. building up the Hype to ensure good bookings and stocking the yards for festive deliveries.

They seem to be targeting Mx5 , Ax5L and Ax7L bookings MT & AT. No view of 4x4 except Ax7L 4x4.

So those planning to book Mx5 4x4 and Ax5L 4x4 might have to wait till NY or Mar 2025 (hoping they give Price protection at least to secure 4x4 / 4xplore bookings.

Correct me if I am wrong the 173 HP engine is only available with 4*4 Diesel variant. The price you quoted is for 4*2 variant.

As per the brochure - Both AX5L and AX7L AT variants get the higher tuned engine irrespective of 2WD or 4WD.
