It can be quite detrimental to the engine and turbo since oil will lose its desired properties.

Since no one checks engine oil level as a practice this issue will not be reported much, I have seen two such instances on 2 vehicles with less than 3k.km on odo, service center has citied diesel mixing with oil as a reason for rise in oil level. Only option is to change the oil and oil filter, which obviously is not a fix.

Mahindra should address this issue voluntarily before this issue blows out of proportion and people start reporting engine and turbo failures.
During the 2,000 km service, I changed the engine oil and filter, even though the service advisor mentioned it wasn’t necessary and could last until 10,000 km. Despite the advice, I decided to proceed with the oil change. Now, after driving 8,000 km, the oil level has remained normal . I will check with the service advisor again during the next service.

Cars manufactured after Feb are all new white interiors if you had opted white. They are no more manufacturing ivory.

My booking status shows invoiced.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I'm glad my car interior will be mocha grey. Also, which insurance company should I choose? I've seen people in this forum going with Tata AIG. Which insurance package is better— 1+3 or 3+3?

Here's a friends lifted Thar ROXX with -30mm offset rims and MT tyres. Looks massive. The Endeavor looks small besides the ROXX.

You can choose any insurance company but ensure it has a cashless garage service with your authorised service centre, look for companies with better claim settlement ratios and most add-ons included. As I see, premiums for your model for 1 year OD + 3 year TP would be around Rs.54,525 with Zero Depreciation, 24x7 Roadside Assistance, Engine Protector,Consumables, Key & Lock Replacement, RTI and Tyre Protector.

TATA AIG offers more coverage with Loss of Personal Belongings and even Hotel and Travel Expenses as add-ons in addition to the above at a premium of just Rs.56,180. So it is a pretty good deal.

Going for 3-year OD + 3-year TP ensures you no worries regarding insurance premiums for 3 years and it would be around Rs.1,02,949 with the same add-ons as above.

While the same for TATA AIG with the same add-ons as earlier would entail a Rs.1,17,101 premium.

Considering the same, if you are going for TATA AIG, the 3+3 plan isn't the best value, rather the 1+3 plan would be the better choice, however with other insurers it may be a different scenario.

Do choose depending on your needs and requirements.

Finally. wishing you a wonderful ownership experience with the THAR ROXX.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

My current quotation for my Roxx (Thar Roxx - AX7 L Diesel AT 4WD) from Tata AIG and HDFC ERGO is below. Do I need to increase the IDV?

Great stance!
Is it the tough dog kit or the mmg kit? How much is the lift?

Your IDV is too high, IDV should be 95% of the ex-showroom price at the time of purchase, so your IDV should be Rs.21,93,549 only. Increasing the IDV beyond this point gives you no benefits considering you are already going for Zero Depreciation and Return to Invoice, and in the cases of the amount the insurance compensation determined in respect of other than total loss cases, the Insurance payout is considered based on value of the car and therefore 95% ex-showroom price is the right way to go. Increasing your IDV beyond this point doesn't do any good as insurers will use this figure as a benchmark for claims.

Here is the quote from TATA AIG for your reference, you may adjust the IDV on the website and get a similar or better quote

Here is the quote with said IDV from TATA AIG website

It's a homegrown kit. Different Strut, Fabricated Springs.. Drives well. However, he is doing some final touches on it.

Good that they're now offering it in the colour that the ivory white would've eventually turned into after 2 weeks of use.

Sat in a family friend's Mocha Brown Roxx that was just delivered, and their car also had a Mocha Grey sticker. The roof liner was grey, as compared to the white liner in our Roxx. I'm wondering if Mocha grey refers to that combination, and if this is a misprinted sticker?

Common knowledge wise at least, this does not look like a shade of Mocha

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

My agent at Mahindra Agra mentioned the grey is available only on the 4wd Roxx, and not the RWD.
Is this correct?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

It really good to know that Mahindra took the feedback from the owners and also the media drive. Ivory interior is going to be or phased out, Its Mocha Grey and Brown only.

Exactly ! That makes sense too - mocha seats and grey roof liner. The misplaced sticker indeed referring to the interior colour combination. I couldn’t find either ‘mocha’ or ‘grey’ colours anywhere in the picture.
