Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Can we do the SW update by ourselves? Do we have OTA option?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I skipped the previously allotted car to get the interior update and all other 3 updates mentioned by various media. But today my sales RM confirmed that all those changes except the interior material update was only for John Abraham’s special version and not for mass production. So decided to pick the one in transit that is having the interior update alone. Hope it will improve the quality of interior a bit.

Sorry but thia sounds very hard to believe. Do you really think that MM will produce just ONE Roxx only for John with a feature like request sensor?

SAs will say anything to move stock that they have. Not the first time, will not be the last time!

Yes, possible. But I don’t care any of these features except the interior materials improvements.

And moreover, not worth the 3% hike next month. None of these features worth 70k plus addition in ex-showroom and the proportional hike in taxes.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Thar Roxx now gets Mocha Grey Interiors, Ivory white interiors to be likely discontinued.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

My estimated delivery will be between May to June what I had said through M&M's official mail. Then got another mail one months back saying my delivery will be done between July and August. When I enquired about it the next day in the showroom they said your delivery date is again shifted to September to October

My model is MX1 D MT. Even a single MX1 is not delivered in my area. I am thinking whether to go for a higher model for better options, and then maybe the delivery date will be sooner. Here I got a quotation from TATA AIG - Package (1 year OD + 3 years TP) and Package (3 years OD + 3 years TP) for the model MX3 MT 2W Diesel variant. What I have enquired at the showroom - insurance is around 87K. Here I need help guys, is the below insurance policy covering all nessasory add-ons?

Too high. For our Roxx with ex showroom 23.09L, IDV 21.95L, total premium was 47k including RTI, Zero Dep.

For your model with all these add-ons, the premium with IDV as mentioned in your quote should range from around Rs.46,622 to around Rs.48,874 (both including GST) for 1 Year OD + 3 year TP in your location. The premium increases with addons and the addons you selected are more than enough and should provide you with comprehensive coverage.

With the add-ons you have taken, i.e. Zero Depreciation, Emergency Transport and Hotel Expenses, Consumables, Key replacement, Loss of Personal Belongings, Tyre Secure, Engine Secure, Repair of Glass, Rubber and Plastic Parts, RTI, RSA and so on, the premium is bound to rise. Moreover Insurance prices vary depending on the insurer as well, some insurers like Digit, Acko, Zurich Kotak etc provide very low quotations and prices but make sure you go through them thoroughly as there are hidden clauses involved like only 2 Zero depreciation claims and so on.

Here your quote seems good and can be proceeded with considering it is from TATA AIG with all requisite add-ons. You may also check with other insurers before finalising for getting better quotes but more or less this seems a fair deal.

Did the PDI today. Apparently the new interior color is called Mocha grey and it’s a bit tan than the previous white interior. I liked the color and texture.

Noticed that that the car is fitted with Ceat AT tyres. Is this any good compared to MRF? In stock size any other options in AT tyres ? A bit confused on this one. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Otherwise decided to go with Prad full underbody protection for 18500 from Mahindra showroom itself. It’s a bolt on kit as the accessories guy told me. And some normal genuine functional accessories like mudflaps and mats.

I hope to get the same mocha grey interior for my roxx, which is currently in transit and expected to arrive tomorrow. Also, did you check the Mahindra website for any changes in the booking status? Mine still shows as "booked."

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

All Thar Roxx owners check your engine oil level especially if you have completed more than 2500 km, some people have observed oil level rising due to unburnt diesel getting mixed up during auto re-gen process

It can be quite detrimental to the engine and turbo since oil will lose its desired properties.

Since no one checks engine oil level as a practice this issue will not be reported much, I have seen two such instances on 2 vehicles with less than 3k.km on odo, service center has citied diesel mixing with oil as a reason for rise in oil level. Only option is to change the oil and oil filter, which obviously is not a fix.

Mahindra should address this issue voluntarily before this issue blows out of proportion and people start reporting engine and turbo failures.
