I have both the vehicles & now thoroughly enjoy driving the Roxx AT over the Creta IVT [Petrol]
Coming to seat - its what a lot of people talked about initially, but I have the MX3 P-AT & the seats seem to be comfortable enough. I've done 2-3 long trips [600-700kms either way] & I can tell you, I am content both with the seat / drive & fuel efficiency.

Anyhow before finalizing - take a longer test drive with a mix of City/Highway & take that call.

But the CarPlay is Present in all the Firmware versions, just locked for the masses till the time "Roxx" Receives the license from Apple. But if you can find a Cooperative Staff member at the service centre, they can easily unlock it for you.
Reaching out to MX3 owners in Delhi NCR region - if you do happen to hit such a gentle technician - please share the details.

Would this mean that Wireless CarPlay would become available as well?

Reason for asking: All my needs are met with MX3 P AT except for wireless CarPlay.

Got the XUV700 P AT AX7L, did not find the ROXX meeting my expectations specially the 7 seating.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

What are the current waiting times for Petrol Roxx booked now in Pune Maharashtra?

Do dealerships in some cities delivery sooner?

And which variant waiting time is shorter, AX7L or AX5?

Thanks for this update. I have my 1st service scheduled at Harbir this week. Do you recall the name of the software engineer who unlocked carplay? TIA

You know what? When the service executive asks if there’s any issue with the car, just tell him that the screen occasionally glitches and request him to call the engineer for a firmware reset. Once the engineer arrives and connects his laptop to the car, discreetly ask him to unlock Apple CarPlay without letting anyone else know. That should do the trick!

• Don't Talk About Carplay or Unlocking stuff with Service Executive
• Just Request the Engineer for Carplay once he comes to attend your car

Nice trick.

However, it’s such a sorry state that after buying the car with CarPlay advertised as it’s feature, we’re subject to such tricks and being at mercy of M&M’s guys to do it secretly.
It happens only in India !

Did you have to use a spacer? From what I've heard, apart from the OEM alloys, every other set up needs a spacer due to the brake callipers.

To Get Apple Carplay in your Thar Roxx (MX3 MX5 AX5L AX7L) please refer Quoted texts.

OMG! Carplay on Thar Roxx is so smooth, now the touch response on the screen just feels like an iPad. Its surprisingly more fluent and reactive then the actual inbuilt software of the screen.

Here are Some more Pictures of the Carplay, in my "Thar Roxx MX3" :

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Autopunditz data is implying Thar to have crossed 10,000 Sales mark in February 2025. If yes then it is a huge achievement.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Anyone who has an Ecosport/Venue/Sonet and the Roxx? The boot space for Roxx is much higher on paper (upto head rest) but somehow, in person and then rechecking videos, it feels similar to these vehicles to me (largely due to large occupied space on the sides).

Not a deal breaker but just wanted to get opinions of others. I currently have an Ecosport.

NO spacer was used. I was against using a spacer. There is a slight touching which happens with extreme last point turn which one I get time will get it fixed. In day to day driving it doesn't bother at all.

20" is better upsize in terms of circumference vis a vis original 19" vs 18" which has more sidewall with more circumference.

The slight touching in front bumpers or calipers? Perhaps, it's the 20" that did the trick then.

The front bumpers only. Also one of the option is to pull the bumper out which was suggested by Mahindra person as well.

So I have got the bumper pulled out a bit by the max. Margin which is available, and it may need slight cutting for offroading only.

There is one more important thing to consider which AT tyres you are installing, Chinese/Indonesian/Taiwanese tyre come with far more aggresive tread in comparison to Yokohama and may touch more and require more adjustments.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

After multiple follow-ups and reading the recent report here on how to get CarPlay enabled, I again reached out to the service center. He was not aware of any such method where it could be enabled by him in existing firmware, and he also denied the availability of any update, but after I did multiple back and forth, he said that there is an update available for CarPlay. It was the traditional method of update for Mahindra vehicles, where it takes around 1.5-2 hours for the update. I think mine might be one of the first AX7L to get CarPlay. Also noticed that they have finally fixed alloys on the screen, now it shows 19" alloys instead of 18"

Attaching relevant images for everyone's reference so they can also get it done.
