But his detailer didn’t talk about whether or not this finish will have an impact on side airbags.

I dont think that will be an issue; many detailers nowadays have the tools to account for such concerns. It's not exactly new technology, and we can trust Indians for all sorts of jugaad

First, thank you for this brief write-up

Mahindra has indeed provided appropriate space for storing tools under the carpet of the massive boot, but only for the AX7 variants.

Is it not possible to lock/unlock all the doors using the driver-side door? This feature was present in my 2009 Scorpio. If it’s not available, that’s quite a disappointment.

It is possible. Separate button isn’t provided. Rather, flipping driver’s lock/unlock button does the job

I was thinking exactly the same, why not get a coat of leather finish applied.
Good someone has tried this, lets see how it holds up after few months.
Need to find someone to do this in Mumbai now.

Anyone got their AX7 delivered this month? Those who had Nov - Dec timeline?

Have you got the part above the door painted black or applied film? I like this better than the complete white that some others have done. Any way to change the handle colours of the doors to either white or black? Pretty weird, must be the only car in the world that comes with 2 different coloured handles

Just applied matt black sticker/Decal. It really goes well with the matt black top/roof..I can share another image of the door if you like.

BTW. Lovely wheels you got on yours...love em.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I have a AX7L RWD D AT booking and am thinking to change to lower one of lower variant.

1. MX3 P AT as this is VFM variant, even though fuel economy would take a hit. The lesser on-road price would make up for reduced fuel economy, no sunroof, E20 compliant petrol engine will let me keep the car to max time possible, lesser tech which may result in lesser niggles and sensor issues in next 10-15 years, not dealing with BS6 DEF / regen issues as 80% of the time the car will be driven in city traffic.

2. AX3L D MT to get lane keep assist which will be usable on highways, black seats, no sunroof.

[*] One irritating thing is that there is no space in the Roxx that is dedicated to keeping the car jack other tools provided with the car. It was simply left in a plastic cover in the passenger foot well area at the time of delivery. Mahindra should have provided in appropriate space for storing the tools under the carpet of the massive boot or a recessed space on the side of the boot.
Thank you for sharing your experience with MX3.

Does MX3 not have any space under the carpet to put the tools? If this is true, then the tools would eat up some space in the boot.

Better to either switch off the auto start stop, or make sure that you release the brake gradually.
Can you check if this behavior is not due to auto hold function of the electronic parking brake? I have read few members mention the auto hold release to be quite erratic and urgent. I had experienced similar behavior in 3XO. What helped me ease the auto hold release during my Roxx test drive was to release brake manually and then accelerating.

Once you put the car into park and the passengers want to disembark, they have to individually unlock their own doors manually. Even for the hotel security to open the boot, I had to use the unlock button on my car key! This is an important omission (unless I am missing looking in the right place)[/list]
Unlock driver side door lock. This will unlock all doors including boot. Even our 2021 Safari does not have a dedicated button to unlock all doors. I guess just a cost saving thing for manufacturers.

No offense to owners or team members, but the Roxx is an extremely ill-designed vehicle in terms of looks. A vehicle is supposed to have continuous lines, symmetry, and harmony, which should not jarringly break.

It is all over the place in the Roxx.

1. Different colored door handles.
2. The rear seating area, piece of metal running on the top door, just appears out of nowhere, and ends nowhere. Of course it serves a purpose to provide strut support to the roof.
3. The triangular window, when the whole car is box shaped.
4. The circular head lights transformed to 'C', again no continuity. No end, just a jarring cut-off. Why a 'C'
5. The alloy spokes (or what ever we can call them), one is longer than the other. Looks so weird.
6. The 7 - slat, which begins and ends with "smaller slats'. Why would they do that?

Seems P.Bose went over-board, and was unchecked. Overall the car carries immense, road presence and looks butch. Totally! Not to miss: the better tech and features vs. the mothership - The Thar.

Even in mx3 which has manual brake, it’s the same behavior

That's Pratap Bose signature. We joke around that he has anti-Midas touch - ruins everything he touches. His designs are not something that everyone would like. They are polarising and splits the opinion. I guess that's what he aims for and going by the discussion around design, he is achieving his goal.

So insightful.

Btw, would you like to share your valuable view on the reason why are masses crazy about it despite it being such “extremely ill-designed vehicle” ?

Even you’re on the thread of this sorry looking vehicle, despite hating it so much.

Can this be addressed by Mahindra by ECU update? Or is this something the user needs to be concerned about in long run?

I didn't sense any hate in asingh1977's comment. They only gave their opinion on the design of the car. I have booked Roxx but I still concur with their views. One can call out shortcomings in a car despite liking the overall package. What makes "masses crazy" is that this "sorry looking vehicle" is actually a good package overall - good road presence, features and good engines/transmissions.
