It's frustrating that despite having an online portal for bookings, Mahindra does not show the expected delivery date and keep it updated. Shouldn't be such a big task!

BTW, there was also some news on M&M increasing prices starting January, don't know, if that is what M&M is gunning for!

Expect call by 28-29th December, I too got a call from my dealer after 12-15 days of my expected delivery window start date.

I have heard the same, they are looking to increase pricing from Jan, I am pushing the dealer to bill it in next few days.

I agree with you, the dispatch of the vehicle should be on email those who booked online or on their portal. It helps keep things transparent and not have doubts on Dealers.

On side note, I got a message from Dealer that Apple CarPlay won't be enabled at the time of delivery.

It seems to me M&M is not confident about the bookings. I know that dealers also pushed through a lot of their own personal bookings and going by current trends, MX5s are readily available in stock, due to cancellations or dealer bookings (but clearly available), looks like M&M doesn't want AX7s to be in dealer stock.

I am happy that your dealerships are at least responsive. The dealership I booked with is worst lot I have dealt with in past 10 years. I feel they have pulled fast one on my booking and gave my car to someone else. Mahindra does not provide any updates directly to customer when the car is dispatched, the dealer gets upper hand when the car arrives which is allocated to a customer.

My delivery period was mid of November 2024 to mid of December 2024. These dates have already passed and still no contact with them.
I want to change the dealership but looks like this is not an option.

I have escalated my issue to customer support and waiting for any resolution.

I too have been sailing in the same boat wherein my allotted vehicle was sold by dealer to someone else. Even after giving all the proofs to the Mahindra team they haven't acted upon the wrong doing of the Dealer. To further put salt on my wounds I was called for a reconciliation meeting with the Dealer wherein ASM of Mahindra was presented and to bury the issue he offered me 60k discount if I took any other variant readily available with the Dealer. I refused their offer and asked them to provide me the exact timelines for the delivery of my AX7 variant and it has been a month since this discussion and now they aren't responding to my emails or phone calls and the CRM team is clueless to offer any help.

I firmly believe that local Mahindra officials are in hand in glove with the Dealers and aware of all the allotments being done on premium charges by the Dealer bypassing the system. The Dealer has fully rights pertaining to modifying your bookings even if you have done online booking. Once they receive the update regarding the allotment of the vehicle they then manipulate the system by changing the variant booked in the system wherein the customer is not aware of such changes until and unless he checks his booking status online 24x7 to show the variant booked hasn't automatically changed and when you point out the same to dealer and the company officials they blame it on software issue and till you try to figure out what happen they have already sold your allotted vehicle to someone else.

I have lost faith and trust in Mahindra and their dealers and thinking of cancelling my booking.

Any idea how long refunds are taking after cancellation? I cancelled on 6/12 but haven’t received it yet.

Saw this on Bangalore ITPL main road. Could this be the petrol 4*4?

Since your expected delivery period is already over, go to twitter and make a strong, but certainly not abusive, representation to Ms. Asha Kharga.

Don't forget to tag Mr. Anand Mahindra. Just give yourself two days and see how M&M reacts. You should get your car soon - just try this once.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

After watching numerous videos on YouTube and reading articles regarding the power output in the Thar Roxx, Majority of the videos state incorrect power outputs especially for the Diesel variants.

There are two states of tune for the Diesel engine:

1. 172.4 HP / 370 Nm
2. 150 HP / 330 Nm

Only the AX5L and AX7L Automatic RWD and 4X4 variants get the higher state of tune i.e 172.4HP/370 Nm

So essentially only the top two Automatic variants (AX5L and AX7L) get the higher state of tune regardless of RWD or 4X4.

Rest all Manual/Automatic Transmission variants get the lower state of tune engines i.e 150HP/330Nm including MT 4X4 and RWD.

So even the AX7L 4X4 MT gets 150 HP/330Nm whereas the AX7L RWD AT gets 172.4HP/370Nm.

Therefore if anyone wants maximum power from the diesel engine automatic (AX5/7L) is the only choice regardless of RWD/4X4.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I checked with the dealer AGM and only the AX5 L DAT 4WD gets the higher powered engine where as the AX5L DAT RWD gets the lower powered diesel engine. He rechecked again and reconfirmed with this info. I'm still not 100% sure whether this is correct.

I am getting AX5L DAT 4WD in Stealth black this week and the higher powered engine was one of the reason for me to get the 4WD over an AX5L DAT RWD in Nebula blue which was almost 3.5 Lakhs cheaper. The black colour and the peace of mind of not getting stuck just in case.. when having a 4WD, was also in favor of this decision.

Hi @itwasntme, Any reasons for cancelling? Very bad ride quality? Will give some idea for other sedan users

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Took delivery of my AX7L PAT on Dec 01. Battleship Grey.

The delivery timeline initially shared by Mahindra was between 23rd Nov and 23rd Dec. I got a call from the dealership on 23rd Nov itself stating that the vehicle has been billed and should be available for delivery by Nov End. I requested for 1st December delivery since it happens to be my birthday as well as a sunday this year.

Overall, a good experience from both Mahindra and the dealership Koncept Mahindra in Gurgaon. The dealership did not try to push any accessories and accomodated my requests for a PDI as well as date of delivery pretty easily. They didn't push for any advance payments as has been the case with many others. Also they came pretty close to the external insurance quotes and I chose to go with them. Opted for 1+3 fully loaded (RTI, Zero Dep, all optional covers) at 56K.

Took a few accessories from the dealership: Mud Flaps, Window blinds, door sill plates, perfume and infotainment guard, of which car perfume they made complimentary.

The vehicle had done 12kms at the time of delivery, which was good. A couple of smudges were there on passenger seat and roof, which I highlighted, but they could not remove completely. I decided not to bother and ruin the experience.

I have driven approximately 500kms so far. The ride has been smooth and uneventful so far. The ADAS works well, music system is good too. Body roll is as expected (benchmark is 1st gen XUV5OO, my earlier ride). The only sour point is FE. I get around 7 in peak traffic and 9ish in relatively better traffic. Expect 10-11 on highway runs which I have been unable to do so far.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

So now you can just add DRL to the existing MX3 headlights and even add an indicator option along with it (see 4:26). The indicator feature isn't even present in the actual Thar!

I am tempted to add a couple more things to my car but I also think maybe I should wait a couple of months and see how the modding scene evolves with Roxx.

Congratulations on your new car.
Mine is MX3 P AT. With some anticipation of how much gas the car needs to cover the available distance (by available, I mean the distance to slowing down or stopping the car due to traffic ahead), I get 8-8.5 on inner streets of Delhi, 11-11.5 on usual roads, 15.5-16 on noida-greater noida expressway (3 round trips so far). Car has run just about 350 kms so far.
No niggles whatsoever.
With my MT Scorpio-N, I used to get similar FE.
So, pretty happy with FE of Roxx since it’s AT.

That's really good FE, the highest I have managed to touch is around 9.2 calculated using tankful method in my 2,800 KM of driving. I had done a 650KM highway trip last week, and I got FE of a little less than 8; though to be honest the driving style wasn't tweaked in any way to get the best FE.

What speeds were you maintaining at the expressway to get this mileage? with or without cruise control?
