Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I had booked a Thar Roxx at the time it launched and due to the dealer being a family friend knew I could pick it whenever I wanted and whenever he had one available for me.

The moment the Mocha Brown was announced I told him I was in no rush and that I wanted the Mocha Brown only due to reasons obvious.

Around 4 weeks back I was about to leave for the US / Europe and I got a call from my used car dealer. He said he had someone who wanted a Thar AT 2 door in Black immediately and in about 30 minutes my Thar went and exchanged owners. I did not even get a chance to see it one last time. Got a very good deal.

The next day I left for my trip and messaged my friend while I was travelling who is the Mahindra dealer to get me the brown interior Roxx as quickly as possible. I got back on the 24th and on the 25th he said I could have my car the next day as one had left the factory and was billed to him and so I immediately went ahead. Got the car as promised in 2 days time. The stickers on the car said 20th March.

Did not even go for PDI neither saw anything except for a few pictures and video sent by the salesperson to ask me if I wanted any accessories to which I only wanted Mats and side cladding, a body cover and window shades. All done and delivered to me to my office in a few hours.

Very happy with the initial 200 km's I have driven it over 3 days.

The brown interiors are very nice and I am glad I waited.

Definitely my daily runner now as this car makes so much sense in the way our office and home functions. Would not think twice before sending it to the Airport to pick and drop 1 or 2 individuals as well as can now be used by the ladies considering it now has a back seat for the days other bigger cars are not available. Earlier the older 2 door thar was limited and no one would sit in it and was literally being used only by myself or by my son for his gym and training runs.

Here are 2 pictures I managed to click. I hope this one gives me a few years of trouble free running same as the 2 door Thar.

The 172 bhp is for 4x4 AT as well as the AX spec RWD AT.

While Mahindra planned the 150 bhp tune for all the RWD AT and the 172 bhp tune for all the 4x4 AT, the backlash at launch led them to update the specs. The same was communicated to many of the automotive journalists soon after the launch event. The RWD spec of the AX5L and AX7L D AT was also given the same 172 bhp tune as the 4x4s.

And for definite proof, a shot of the underbody of my AX7L D AT RWD attached below. Note the orange sticker on the fuel tank. It reads Diesel 175PS which roughly converts to 172 bhp. The W502 is the internal company code of the Thar Roxx.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I took delivery of AX7L P AT RWD yesterday at Delhi. The stock tyres were 19" Ceat CrossDrive AT tyres. With tyre pressure set to 31 / 32, I found the drive quality liveable / ok, and also I didn't find the tyres to be noisy on the highway.

19" tyre - especially the spare on the boot - did look big though; but in a good way.

Anyone else got the same call?
Any follow-up on this? Fellow P AT owner but haven't been contacted regarding this, I fear I might have missed their call.

I went today for the software update and got the carplay activated. The SA wasn't aware of any other recalls. We do have the option to check if there are any active "service action" requests for our vehicle online and I couldn't find any for mine. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility that I just misheard when I received the call.

Anyone have an update on the wiring kit for fog lamps? Mahindra has been telling me that they are still waiting for the wiring kit.

[quote=Rex52;5947348]I'm planning on buying GFX mats. Everyone is saying positive things about them. How is your experience? I found a few links for ROXX Accessories. Anyone, let me know if the links are good. I am never aware of them.

Been good so far, but they have different sizes for AX5 and AX7 boot mats get the appropriate one.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Some times the simplest of things can make your ownership easier. As a Petrol owner, I was always concerned with instructing & reminding my chauffeurs and family members only to refuel with 95 Octane petrol. Today, that changes

I ordered it for my AX7L auto. The fit and finish is good. They do tend to show dust even after a single use. A wipe with a moist cloth is all it takes to clean. I had Mr. Rahul from CarMan India ( New Delhi )shipped to me. a set of 4 pieces @5750/-

Did you get the trunk mat too for that price?
Carhatke.com where I purchased the GFX front & rear floor mats for my AX7L retail it for ₹3699 and with trunk mat for ₹5300.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Did anyone in this forum receive a message about a fuel line recall in Thar Roxx? A service centre executive said it's a top priority and should be done immediately.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

I have a booking for AX 7L 4WD (Mocha interiors), the tentative delivery at the time of booking was around June. The booking number is surely under 10000.

What is the process of this system of deliveries.

I mean, how will I get to know that M & M has allotted a car against my booking.

Is M & M going to send a SMS/email to me or its the responsibility of the dealer to call and inform the customer.

So far there is no information about the status.

Cheers.

Contact your dealership, connect with a sales manager with your booking details and I am sure they will allot you a car in the next few days as dealers are flush with stock (as per my SA)
