Quick update: got a generic lumbar support cushion and used it for a couple of hours' drive within the city. Happy to report that it made quite a difference in the sitting comfort. I am expecting it will be a game changer for long drives.

Apart from that, very happy so far with the vehicle. I find it a joy to drive, with no noticeable niggles so far.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Has anyone got installed a parcel tray in the boot - official accessory or after-market? If yes, please can you share your experience?

I would prefer to cover the boot to protect it from prying eyes but the official accessory is priced like it is gold plated. And it is a soft cover so not even sure how good it is.

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Can someone please confirm if the GFX mats are the current known best ones for the Thar Roxx? Are there any others that are equally good or better? I want to avoid all these 7D mats as I can't fathom how anyone can like it. The GFX mats seem nice as they have the exact contour of the foot well area. I haven't seem them in-person and hence dont know about their quality and whether they have any fitment issues particularly with the ABC / AB pedals.

Also, how do we get a positive confirmation on the PCDs for 3D Thar and the Roxx? I am still considering replacing the MX3 steel rims with 3D Thar Alloys - the guy who will sell me the 3D alloys says its an exact fit and there will be no issues, but, some others here seem to think the PCDs are different and won't fit.

Same PCD but different offset so test fit the rims before paying.

I too am thinking of going for GFX because they’re plain and simple but do the job well. Had good experience with them in the past.

Found them listed here: https://carhatke.com/gfx-car-floor-m...roxx-automatic

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Got this wrangler inspired bumper installed today, let me know your opinions. Should I remove the bullhorn branded space covers?

Re: Mahindra Thar Roxx Review

Got the delivery of my MX3 D AT today.
Initial impressions are very promising. I drove around 250 KMs today from Jammu to Phagwara.

Drive was decently comfortable and smooth. After driving 3D Thar for 1.5 years, the steering wheel on Roxx feels sooooo light. So light that afrer driving Roxx for good part of the day I found the steering wheel on my Seltos to be relatively good heavier than Roxx.

I am 5'11", the under thingh support is little lacking but nothing much to complain about. I think that's the character of this car.

A very fun car to drive. Did not feel any tiredness even though almost 100 KM of the stretch was slow moving traffic with alottt of diversions, oneways, broken roads and pebbles due to road construction between Lakhanpur and Jammu.

The most impressive thing that even shocked me were the Fuel Efficiency figures. Although the tank to tank figures are awaited, but the automated FE figure of 16.6 KMPL for the entire trip is nothing short of amazing considering slow moving traffic, alots of diversion, braking on and off. The other 150 KM stretch was around 85 to 115 kmph.

Good to know you have used them in the past and have a favourable experience. I saw the GFX mats for the first time yesterday. As it is laser cut, it might fit really well and hence look nice. However, I wasn't sure aout the material used and the dealer said they tend to lose their black colour and fade / turn white with use.

I feel it looks nice, keep those space covers, else, it might look odd with a big gap. BTW, what did you do with the original fog lamps?

Yes, it happens, but the color is not always blue.

I have used GFX mats in the past with my 3D Thar. They were excellent quality, great fit and very easy to clean. Material was good, never gave any rubbery smell.
Will be getting them installed in my roxx today and then share the photos and general overview.

I used them for 1.5 years, approx 20k KM on Thar 3D. They didn't lose any color. Not even the driver foot area got any fade/deterioration. They were as good as new.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hear from you and to see the pics after you get them installed.
Please also share its cost and the source.

Friends, as discussed in some past messages, official M&M mud flaps aren’t fitting the best, any recommendations on the better ones ? TIA

They’re still in the original bumper, these new ones are amazing in comparison.

It appears we don't have any other option at the moment and I agree, they don't fit well and / or is not designed properly. You do need something there, else, the slush will splatter badly on the body. Perhaps something better will eventually come.

If you don't mind, could you please share pics of it from the back of the bumper so I can see how it looks and how it is fitted behind the bumper? I mean the original bumper and the fog lamp that came with it. As I am expecting my MX3 soon, have been looking for fog lamp options and wonder if the fog lamps from the 3 door Thar will be compatible - the pic you will share will help me figure out if this is the same part between 3D Thar and Roxx. Alternatively, if you will not use the OEM fog lamps of your Roxx and are willing, can I have them?

Thanks for this. By different offset, do you mean the stock 18 inch tires will stick out or go inside? If it sticks out a little, it may look nice.

Based on member Turbanator's experience, it would seem the 3D Thar rims would need a spacer and extended lug nuts. I think a quick trip to an alloy dealer and test fitting the rims would answer all questions. Unfortunately I am still waiting on my allocation; delivery window- 28-11-24 to 28-12-24.

274Km in Thar ROXX MX3 P AT + Accessories Update

This is a followup to this thread: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5884744 (Mahindra Thar Roxx Review)

I did a 274KM trip yesterday (60-40 Highway-City split), and here are some observations. These are primarily in comparison to my previous 2yr 30000km experience with 3D 4X4 Thar

Mahindra Thar Roxx Review-untitled.png
  • The trip started at around 100km on the ODO with 6.8kmpl. The trip ended at 11kmpl to the dot
  • Sometime in between it even touched 12.1kmpl which almost never happened with my 3D Thar
  • The car was driven on ZIP Mode. I actually didnt realize there are drive modes in the car until towards the end of the trip
  • The car is butter smooth. With 3D Thar, everyone in the car could sense when it hit 80kmph. In this 80-90kmph feel absolutely nothing different. Since its a new car, I did not push it beyond 90kmph
  • People are fascinated with ROXX. Multiple people (BMW, Fortuners, Swift, etc) slowed down just to look at the car
  • Car is insulated well; however, I know with a couple of accessories the insulation can be even better. But I dont want to rip apart from car yet
  • Carplay not being available is a hassle. With 3D Thar the car automatically switched sources, now I have to press the source button and then click on Bluetooth. Also, I wish the color scheme was greyscale instead of whatever it is right now
  • Lumbar support is great. Thigh support couldve been better. My mother prefers front seats in the Roxx over 3D Thar and Creta
  • Wireless charging is slow and so is 15W Charging. I wish there was a 12V Socket upfront
  • My uncle who has owns two Fortuners is a covert and will book one soon. Initially he dismissed Roxx because he absolutely hates how 3D Thar drives

Lords of Detailing, Gurgaon did a ceramic coat on the car. This is how the car looked after the process and the YT Shorts they updated on their channel

I am split on the Bottom Door Cladding. My mother likes it. I prefer a more cleaner look

I also got a steering wheel wrap done Siyaram Motors (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Cj8sBzu6dEgR6bEN7) and I am pretty happy with the result. Although watching them disassemble the steering wheel was bit painful

I also managed to get my dual channel A810 Hotwired at Siyaram
