I requested MOD Ajmat to combine the 3 parts into one, so that I could share the video here too. Thanks Ajmat.

Nicely done video by Christopher. Explains the pre-select concept quiet clearly. You better get ready for some retraining clap:

Thanks KPS, really lovely to see Chris the "young master craftsman" at work and restoring the beautiful (art) creations clap:
Hope to sneak in there one of these days

It is refreshing and heartening to see such attention to detail; and penchant for originality. Kudos to the team :)
Updates as of last week
Since the car was not been in use probably since 1993, after it participated in a KVCCC Rally to Athibele with the visiting Hyderabad cars, the head lights needed a through clean up and refixing. It was looking dull due to dust accumulation over the 20 years of being parked
The Lucas "King of the Road" headlights and the matching fog lights and correct park lights are an important part of the car.
The lights we completely disassembled for the clean up
All Lucas parts. Reflector in great shape
Deflector
New Rubber seals where ever possible
The park lights get the similar treatment
The head light is fitted with all new seating rubbers. We maintained the old chrome on the headlights
The alignment is just right. Advantage of having a very original car
Cheers

KPS,
Its shaping up really nicely and this is my favourite part of a restoration, putting it all back together !
Keep the updates coming !
KPS,
I must admit, this is the exciting thread to learn - how to do restoration and paint like a pro, but it's even more exciting cause you are narrating the finer nuances and details of the model. You would not be able to read and see at the same time any where else. The dashboard is really interesting to look at, so is the engine, drive train and suspension.
Thanks for a wonderful thread.
The bonnet setting has been going on for the last few days. All fenders were removed and reset to ensure the gaps are even and correct as far as possible
The bonnet handles were reverted back
The corner bonnet rubbers were fitted with chromer rivets
Cheers

The car is slowly but surely coming together
The exhaust was completely fabricated. The old one would not have lasted.
Heat treated painting was done
Ready for installation
As can be seen from the car sales brochure, the upholstery combinations are well defined. One consultation with my wife, our in-house artist, we opted for the red leather upholstery. It matches the one seen on Jaguar cars
The rear seats has been completed. The rear back with hand rest build in
Now the carpet will be completed and then the front seats
Cheers
KPS
The rear seat has been completed
The rear quarter glass beading
The rear hand rest
The rear quarter glass is done. There is an additional frame with Purple Silk curtain (small pardah!) which I fit later. Have the buy the silk and stitch it on the fame.
The almost complete rear seat is seen. Final fit needs to be done.
Cheers

The little fuel pump was given all the importance that it deserves, a good scrub and clean up .
Clear signs that the car has not been in use for many years
Each part is carefully inspected
Cleaned up. The new few pump kit is ready the fitted
The rear differential seal was changed
Differential seal
The Drive Shaft us refurbished including the new grease seal and packed grease on the extension joint.
The meticulous work of Chris brings so much joy.
Cheers

Beautiful work going on clap:
This pic brought back a lot of nostalgia. Our 1968 Herald MK II had a tickler on the fuel pump (not exactly like this). On the days/period when the car battery was on its last stages, my Dad would ask me to tickle the pump few time before he turned the key starter - so that the engine fires up on the first go.
Thanks for the pic - Chris is doing a great job.
