Lovely, just lovely. Only blemish, the Volkswagen monogram on the rear lid. Now let it be, later suggest you remove.
Cheers harit

That sinister look is accented by the lack of chrome, missing trim on taillights, window rubbers etc. To buy one, just look a couple of posts earlier and make a trip to Baroda.

Well it was kindly fitted by my friend as a suprise. Already drilled and mounted, so it stays for now. This style was introduced in 66-67 I think. I'll probably remove it only when I get an original 'W' decklid and correct 'H' style apron. Long way away.

It surely is a Killer in your Fiatful stable.
And I'm sure that all your Fiats pending restoration are truly jealous of her.
I myself am getting concerned too because you seem to be developing a soft corner for this amazing VW.
And of course! She obviously does deserve all the attention.
BESHT of luck and Happy ownership.

Wonderful VW's, Who says VW's have vanished from Goa, they still remain the homeground for the ever elusive VW's.

This 1967 rare 1500 is in great shape, why is this abandoned, is that up for grabs...?

Twin tail pipes are a Beetle trademark. To me, a Beetle is not a Beetle without certain characteristic features
  • twin tail pipes
  • towel rail bumpers (over riders)
  • front fender high mounted teardrop indicators
  • Wolfsburg crest just above front hood handle
  • smaller pointed number plate light.
Lucky for me, 56 was the debut of the bumpers and twin exhausts. Plus for me the ultimate model is the Oval window, so I really lucked out having everything I wanted in a Bug, the 56/57 models. My car didn't have semaphore indicators, which is really strange. No evidence of them being closed up either.

It's parked at a VW Mechanics place, it's going to be restored.

If I remember right the car was GDE 1498, used to see it at Calangute.
