The green one and the pink one were both restored together. For the green one we had imported a lot of parts for that car whereas we didn't import anything for the other car as it was complete.

Thank you prabal. We have done a complete engine job on both the cars.Thay are very good to drive. The green one in particular has a much better pickup as it has a bigger engine. We have also designed new exhausts for both the cars. The green one has a loud exhaust compared to the other car. These cars perhaphs are the best in calcutta don't know about other places. If you are a regular at the tolly car show in calcutta or the statesman vintage car rallyt in calcutta you may find many of the cars restored by us entered their.Well accoruing to the blue book the pink one is a 72 model but even i think the car is a 60's model car.
Indrojit, I think the car, the pink one is a 1974. The 60's models did not have round headlights like the one on the pink on. They had oval headlights. The rear lights are 1973/74.

It is a piece of art is all what I can say and most definately one of the finest Westfalia around. Knowing the owner I am aware of the efforts which has gone in getting this into ship shape. Kudos to the owner. Keep it going !!

Cheers harit

I think, i saw the same car near Reliance Energy office near Seepz around 2 months back. It was driven by and Old Sardarji.

Was not able to take the pics as our vehicle passed by very quickly & the Bug was on the other side of the road.

That's my father's car ... I grew up with it, helping my dad repair it ... that car had a mind of its own and a personality to match.
She used to have trouble starting in the mornings and we used always give her a good push downhill to get her moving.
My love of cars stems from my days with her.
Sadly we don't have her with us anymore!

hi scorpiodame,
of course you could do that since you lived in the top portion of an uphill road opposite the famous school.
I believe That car was with you from 1980 till 1993 when your dad gave it to somebody in QUILON.It was there inside a cashew factory (albeit a changed colour white) till 2005 when it was sold to somebody from bangalore for Rs.65000/- (had some gearbox issues) ,But the car was driven to Bangalore, from where somebody from another part of karnataka bought it .I think that car is still there.
While the car was in Bangalore I along with a friend tried to bring it back to Kerala, but it had already been sold.

Inder Pal ji you own a jewel, Can you tell us a little bit about it, Where it was imported from? Was the interior made by a particular manufaturer etc etc. Also some camping adventures with this car. Call us loosers if you may but something like this really makes our day?
