Finally I have the ultimate holy grail of horn buttons for a 53-56 Fiat 1100. That too in its original Fiat bag brand new.

Somehow the Red and black one gives better contrast to the white steering. I may alternate seasonally though

Aai Ga !! It's looking achingly beautiful Amol.. It'll definitely match much better wth your Ivory steering and console. Put it on and get the car tomorrow .

Hehehe they are always available at fancy prices, So is a Elegant or pre Elegant in the offing? My spies tell me you picked up a pair of Elegant tail lights from under my nose

Its easier to pick up a elegant than finding a brand new yellow horn button. I got mine after almost a year and a half.

I've been procrastinating. Wanted to polish the car and take proper pics. Thought everything which isn't original can be identified. But haven't been able find time to do that. Still have to do that.

Thanks a tonne for the detailed reply!

The headlights on the car have Renault's glass, it was maintained at a Gov garage during the 70's, I was told. They didn't find the concave glass so put these in. The headlight assemblies were changed before that though.

Now, the glass of the headlight from the boot protrudes about 3/4-1.00 inch out of the ring. Is that okay? Now, i've been looking for an original jawa glass for ages. My mechie always asks me to get an old fiat's glass if not a jawas. Could the reverse be done? I'm attaching a pic of the headlight from the boot with similar glass. (In worse case scenario, when getting hold of another similar glass isn't possible, could we probably do this?)

No, its not present.

I would love too. But how though. machine pressed or should the existing one be copied at a foundry?

No. Couldn't find the extra set of side beading either. Guess it was given away with the '59 one. A couple of kleptomaniacs have done away with two bits of the right side beading and 3 rear door levers. That is an addition to the existing long list of stuff to acquire.
I did find a set of 4 hubcaps with one chap. But, they have a hole drilled in the centre. Would it be worth picking them up? (attaching a pic) Need one original wheel too.

Yes, but the covers have deformed due to heat radiated from the garage door.

Yes, its an Ambys. The original would be the long one right? I've asked at a few places. 118's mechie has the glass reservoir, have asked him almost a year ago but he still has to find it and give it. 80 year old chap, cant push him too.

The Speedo surround is cracked. A piece, about an inch in size, is completely broken. Will have too stick it. Have found a guy who has both meters to spare though. Hopefully I get those.

It sounds sweet. But it isn't working at the moment, but I'm sure it can be fixed.

The original glass is supposed to protrude out. See this

Jawa/Yezdi headlights should fit on the dukkar, and should look close to original.

The hubcaps are from a later model, though better than nothing I should think. I would suggest pick them up. If you get your originals, pass these on to me
