In the afternoon i met 3 owners of PP and by their behavior it seemed that they didn't took my words seriously. In simple words, they didn't seemed interested in the club. BTW i gave my no. to all of them. Two of the owners were old gentleman who replied me that they hardly get time to take their car out to a filling station and were not very keen in the participation of club.BTW In the coming days i am thinking of meeting some 118 NE owners, just for a change. If i can find only one person as a companion, this task would be easy and more enjoyable i think so.

Would be visiting the scrapyard for a lookout as 2 PP's turned there as per my sources. I am thinking of getting a set of quarter glass/cut glass with fittings from a scrapped fiat for my purchase next year (hopefully a genuine 137D). Can these be fitted on a car having no provision for the quarter glass? I have a set of old front window glasses which my dad retrieved from our old PP. Therefore, can anyone suggest what other parts are to be procured apart from the quarter glass in order to be used on a non cut glass car.

Arun bhai its still at the back of my mind to purchase an old fiat and modernize it keeping the body intact but fitting the creature comfort things. I am planning to restore my S1 to its stock condition once i procure all the necessary S1 parts. Even i plan to get same color schemes and shade no. of Royal Maroon color which was used in 1995. I also found 2 period car cassette music systems which are not in working condition but will get them repaired and fit one of them in S1. Will post the pics later.
What are the shortcomings of 137D. Are the mechanical parts not available for it?
My dad sold off the good old Delight around 1997. It was fun watching both the cars parked side by side outside from the drawing room of my house. I really miss one thing in my car which is the quarter glass. It was removed in the pre S1 models and continued till S1 as a cost cutting measure(just to save Rs 14 per car). FYI I really loved the breeze on my face at that time and used to rotate it to and fro just in vain. Now one has to settle with adjusting the ORVM of the car when hand is moved towards the A pillar of any car.

Hi

Hi,

There is a Fiat mechanic on the crossing of Aminabad who has a 1967- Fiat 1100d in very good condition , the interior still has remnants of the original trim and the vehicle is in original factory paint. Also there is another pristine 1100D (Also on original paint) which is standing on the road from Aminabad to the kaiserbagh bus stand.

I must congratulate you on the great initiative!

Salman

Sagar:
Give us some history of the car.. Why is the car's paint in such a bad shape? I guess it was not well repainted considering the paint on the front windshield beading. The meter seemed to have been changed. The fuel indicator shows half tank!!

Arun bhai the meter is all original one. Its a first hand car and was driven from Bombay to Lucknow. We are the first owners of this car and the meter was never changed. It is there as it was at the time of delivery.
Regarding the fuel indicator, it is not at fault but the Temperature meter is.Its not working. I was warming up the car when i clicked the pic so the fuel meter needle is up.

Regarding the paint on the car, the last time it was painted was in 2007. The paint job done was of so inferior quality that when we got it serviced the paint washed off literally by the pressure of water and diesel mixture. It was a kutchha paint done by the mechanic. The shine on the paint lasted for only 7 months after which it became what it actually is.
The car met with an accident last year where the engine compartment was fully engulfed in flames. Every rubber and plastic part including the wires were charred to dust. Spent a lot to bring her back in running condition. That is why the front fenders and hood cover(bonnet) is of different shade as it was turned black. Oil primer with a fraction of Maroon paint was mixed and applied in order to match the faded shade of car.

@ Sagar: So the car was ON when you clicked the pictures. Because Even I got puzzled looking at the Fuel-guage and the Temperature-guage.
Did you like the logo ? Want more changes ?
