So we call this car Appu?! If you are restoring the car now, please post detailed pics of the restoration. |
Indeed Arun I am lucky to get this car and I owe to Shyam for this.
Wow! that's a cute little name "Appu" my family also likes it. Thanks Arun (in my community Mama (mom's brother) does the naming part so you've become my relative, from now onwards she will be called Appu at home. Quote:

If the Bumpers and Grill are Factory fitted then my hats off to the previous owner for such preservative maintenance.
DELIGHTS in such 'VIRGIN' condition are rare to find today.
Wish you all the BESHT and hope you enjoy this DELIGHTFul ownership. |
Thanks President I have got more than what I asked for, As far as bumpers are concerned I guess it should be factory fitted however Shyam is the better person to throw light on this. I will safegaurd and cherish this Italian angel for my lifetime. Quote:

Bala, I know curiosity killed the cat as they say, but if you're ok with it, try to do a little prodding under the current seat-covers, ie. wherever there is any tear, see if you can find the originals under them. In many cases, as karl says, they are left intact with the new covers just stitched over. Good luck! "Curiosity killed the cat" I dont mind at all doing the investigation in your presence Standard guru then let's see whose gonna become the cat? just kidding Shyam .
Yes dark grey (steel grey) was offered as a colour choice, but off-white somehow seems way too common to me, atleast w.respect to fiats in hyd!
How about coffee (light brown), bala? Or powder blue, like shiva's elegant? These too are both pastel colours. |
(Light Brown) Sounds fine to me Shyam how about a Navy blue (I'm not sure of the name of this shade) pls find the picture at the end of the post. Quote:

What Shyam says about the hubcaps and the grill is very true. i am not sure your car needs a lot of restoration and in the interim a good polish and detailing will make her a nice daily use classic.
Once all the problems (if any )are sorted out you can go for a more comprehensive restoration. I would stick with a single colour and the current one on your car looks very period. Try getting it polished, the real deal will come out. |
Definately I agree to you sir, Originality would be the first priority to me on this car as most of the other restoration I've done till now. as said fortunately I need not do much parts, cosmetics hunting. I may not use her as a daily car however will sure try the polishing and detailing work soon.
Yes I am looking for a more detailed restoration though it will take some time as my jeep is under restoration and my priority for now. I don't want to take up Appu's restoration for the heck of doing it. She is a Gem and I need to do complete justice here aswell.
Till now I was not aware that Delight has not come in two tone pattern but now I will stick to single colour concept. This leaves a question in my mind how about the wheel rims can it be coloured in off white with white wall tyres (if available but I wish to have guys pl help)
