Congratulations on the acquisition of APU.(appu) I am very happy to see many fiatians acquiring another Fiat/padmini. Hope i too find a good car for myself in future.
BTW Its a very rare model and with almost every original bits intact especially the grill and meter. DO keep her in top notch condition till the restoration works start. Bala bhai did you removed the hub caps?
How about posting some interior shots.

Bala is very lucky to get a Fiat with help from the STANDARD Boy!

So we call this car Appu?! If you are restoring the car now, please post detailed pics of the restoration.

Congrats again bala! Well, I hope I have done enough penance on my part for having lost you the golden oppurtunity of acquiring my 1967 Delight that you badly wanted a couple of years ago! Please say I have, so it'd atleast save me the trouble of travelling all the way to Benaras for a gangaajal dip!! Hehe!

PS: tried posting this reply last night but my net had conked out then!

Are the pics. taken at the place where the car was parked when you collected it?

Again, do hasten in collecting the hubcaps from him as well. You neednt fit them on to the car all the time, its all the more advisable to store them indoors except for photoshoots, as hillram has done for his delight; especially since yours being the clip-on type, are more likely to fall off while running.

Also- just a suggestion- advisable to store the most precious grille indoors as well, its too rare and delicate for any kind of risk (already seems to have suffered a little mishandling previously), and karthik makam (funkykar) of FCB's already made it clear you cant have a replacement!

You can have a padmini grille fitted during that time.

Anyways, have a lot of Fiatful fun with your new baby, looking forward to seeing more pics.

Huh?! This car? With me??! Um, what makes you say that?
It never was with me. As I mentioned, I had only a '67 delight, which was about as original, later sold to karl, which bala missed buying as we didnt get to meet each other yet then.

Congratulations on a nice original car. Would love to see some engine bay pics. If you repaint do consider retaining a period original shade.

Wow!! Karl nice to see you here. I will definately post interiors, engine bay pictures as I myself wanted to do this weekend. Apart from that I need some clarifications aswell. I am thinking of restoring the car to the fullest and will have an original shade for the car however will be inclined to have a two tone colour (if its permitted) for the period looks.

How is you Delight doing, I love the interiors of the car which Shyam sent to you especially the seats. Can you please post some pics of a Delight interiors and exteriors, engine bay so that I can also get some idea and compare my car.

Thanks

Bala

I too have the same color PP which I want to Delight as I have 95% of Original Delight parts.

I was also thinking of two tone color with body color being the same. After much research what I realized is that it will not look like a original Delight if its two tone as Delights never came with two tone color.

For tone color with the same body color, I was thinking of dark grey or off white.

Since APU is a original car, I would still prefer stock single color on it.
