Re: The Riding Gear thread

Cramster launched of their new Flux boots today. Look pretty decent and priced pretty well too at 6k. Might pickup a pair over the Gadsylls as a first riding boots.

Rynox probably testing the water with these before launching their own version. Maybe even off road boots in the future, especially with the Harith Noah signing recently.

Re: The Riding Gear thread

No CE rating for these cramster boots. The orazo boots now come with CE rating. However, these do look good.

How did they achieve CE rating with steel inserts in the toe box? Don't think any steel toe boots should be considered as riding boots. They are glorified work boots and might cause more harm than good.

Yes, opinions are varied regarding steel toe caps for riding boots. Personally i use falco and ryo boots. I hope Rynox comes out with a proper, affordable, CE L2 rated boot. Indian companies have so far skipped on that except Tarmac boots.

Re: The Riding Gear thread

I need to buy a riding jacket. Most of my rides are during weekends and in the morning for around 200km on highways.
Please recommend some good brands and their models.

Would be helpful to get your budget and also if you have stores which you can go and try the jacket suggestions. The fit is important and online shopping is not best for ridding gears.

Budget is close to 10k for the jacket as i also need to invest in shoes. Not looking for a very heave jacket as here in NCR, it does get very hot during summers. But surely, all L2 armor is a necessity.

I am also in NCR and similar riding pattern. Rynox Downtown Pro - thanks me later for both comfort and money saved.

With a budget of 10K would suggest the following:

1. RE EXPLORER V4 PRO - Full CE rated jacket mesh jacket keeping in mind the heat in NCR with D3O for the Shoulder and elbows. Only rain liner included.
2. Viaterra Miller – Light jacket in its class with full CE Level 2 amours and all liners included.
3. Solace RAMBLE 2 - All armors are CE Level 2 and uses 700D for construction and all liners included.
4. Rynox TORNADO PRO 4 - All armors are CE Level 2, but they are from Cerros so will be a bit heavy compared to Knox or D3O. No liners are included.

My preference would be Viaterra or RE but please try in person for the fit as it will matter the most in the end.

For shoes what is your budget?

RE E-39 short and Amaroq Viktor would be my suggestions.

Re: The Riding Gear thread

Hello all.

Starting riding again after almost 7-8 years after relentless pestering by my 18y old son. Getting our gear sorted out for a 400kms ride we plan to undertake post Diwali 2024. I have totally forgotten what were the essentials I used to carry with me on my previous rides.

Was looking for specific thread of some sort of a checklist for longish rides.

Please request if any gentleman would direct me to a specific thread if any is available about essentials to carry on a motorcycle ride.

Thank you.

They are highly likely imported factory rejects from Rebelhorn

Re: The Riding Gear thread

Go for Level 2 CE certified boots in your budget. Ryo boots, orazo and tarmac seem to offer these. Clan shoes is more style with some CE L1 certification. Higher end shoes, if you can source them first of all, and afford, offer even more. Alpinestar corozal drystar is a good example. Waiting for new stock to arrive at Triumph since ages now.

If you have a 9K budget and looking at a shin protector boot, just buy Gadsyll Gstar 11 - https://gadsyll.com/product-category/g-star-11-tourer/ . They are at 8100 and definitely way better than then unnamed, unverified products. And they are quite good.

Picked up the corozal from Keerthi Triumph Bangalore for 30k. They recently had a discount on it. contact them if they still have stock . they will ship it to you as well.
