I have tried external knee guards on many rides and finally given up on them. They keep slipping down from the knees and it's very irritating. The position remains stable when riding but as soon as you take a break and walk a short distance it shifts position downwards, even a small displacement makes it uncomfortable for the subsequent ride. I have now moved on to armored jeans and it's working well.

Would suggest RE as its the best in the range, you can also try out Amaroq mid rise boots. I have the Full length ones and they have been great for the last 5K kms for me.

I have been using it for a while now. Probably around 1500km, daily rides (clearly not riding daily though with that mileage) since june. Like I said, good construction, incredibly comfy. Since my Rynox Air GT4 jacket has terrible wrist design (it is not tapered like viaterra spencer for instance) which does not go under or over the gloves, I have had good airflow into my hands. This might be a bit stuffy with well designed jackets but that is a problem for next summer.

I've tried the Royal Enfield E39 and sure it would protect your feet somewhat, it does not have any ankle support (torsional protection) if I remember correctly. I am not impressed by CE ratings anymore to consider the fact that the E39 gets top marks on all tests. Personally, having used some mid tier boots in the 20k range, it is either simple sneakers or the supertech R for me. I just cannot justify spending big money on half assed boots which come with all downsides boots have.

I need help with buying a pair of touring boots. I am confused between,
1)Forma touring boots.
2) Falco touring boots.
3 Shima boots.

I need my shin to be covered and want something that would last. Budget is up to 26-28k.
My basic riding will be on highways with a versys 650.

Please do suggest.

Among these, go for the forma. You may also check out tcx, alpinestar if available in your locality.

I would suggest you also take a look at the Alpinestars SMX6 V2 boots. It’s a little more than your budget but these are great boots and extremely comfortable after they break in properly. You could get the Drystar ones if you want waterproofing.

I am using these since the last 3 years and in love with them.

Adding to the above, Ryo T-Rex boots.Best budget CE Level 2 IPS IPA boots, but not waterproof. I have them. Order one size above after trying at your local store. With a 28k budget, if you can, get the Alpinestar corozal drystar boots. Waterproof and comfy. It should be available at the Triumph dealership. The stock may be 2 years old, but I'm guessing that's the state with most Astar products available in India.

I've been using Rynox Ubran X Jacket for the past 9 months. Though the jacket is well made, fits me well and comes with decent protective armors, the jacket felt heavy for long runs. After looking at various options under 30k, I decided to go for Rev'It Hyperspeed 2 GT Air Jacket.

Initial impressions: The jacket feels pretty light compared to my Urban X jacket. Stitching, straps and zippers, everything feels premium and built to last. Like most International brands, Rev't doesn't sell the jacket with back protector, had to purchase it separately.

Speaking of another gear: the Viaterra holeshot gloves started to give me callouses due to the sponge near the knuckle area becoming flat. This can be attributed to the 26k+ KM usage in all possible conditions. A small piece of the hard plastic also has chipped off leading to become worse on the right-hand side.











The Viaterra customer service called it wear and tear.





For immediate use, I have got the Raida drift gloves while planning for mesh CE level 1 gloves for daily usage and full gauntlet gloves for winter touring.

I want to upgrade my riding jacket and pant. Currently have 9 years old TBG Knight and Rynox Advento pants. Both of them feel too heavy and also I have put some weight over the years! I recently came across Reise X Spidi gear and wanted to know if anybody have experience with them. Another option is going with RS Taichi Kompass Air series.
Also open to suggestions. My budget for both is max 30K and would prefer something that is light.

I am looking to replace my light summer Dainese riding jacket and this one seemed to fit the role nicely.

These are very good value for money. I have used them for about 2 days in traffic and also walked a good distance in them.

The overall comfort is nice and they look nice with jeans. So great for office commute.
It took me sometime to get comfortable slotting any gear slot except the first.

I would recommend these shoes are regular wear for office commutes.

Thanks Rachit sir! There's lot of mesh in this jacket, translates to superb ventilation on the ride. I'm yet to wear it on a long ride but felt pretty good in city. You can also check out Dainese Herosphere Tex (looks much lighter).

Dear fellow riders,

I'm on the lookout for a riding jacket, gloves and max budget is ~6k and ~3k respectively. I've shortlisted RE Streetwind V3 jacket, Axor Cruise 2 jacket, Axor Nimbus jacket among many others.Some youtubers are suggesting SPITI jacket from Biking brotherhood which retails for around 5.5K.

My usage is city + rare highway riding. I'm looking for at-least CE level two with thermal/rain liners and armours.Kindly suggest from above lot or any other alternatives in this budget.

Coming to gloves, I couldn't shortlist due to plethora of options. Help !!!
