Over the weekend, I dropped into their recently inaugurated store in Bangalore, with krishnaprasadgg and another avid enthusiast, to check out what inventory they have. The store was a lot larger than what I expected it to be, and as you will see from the pictures, they have a lot of products on display.
I did purchase their Diablo jacket and Austra gloves a month prior from their online website, after a long overdue after 6 years (the six year old jacket still holding fine albeit time has taken the toll on the nylon fibers that look soiled for the most part on an otherwise brilliant jacket.

Reise Moto have suavely slided in their superb jackets and pants. Their Diablo jacket is in fact made by Spidi in Vietnam with Level 2 armors with Reise branding. In fact there's a undiscerning Spidi logo on the right/left arm of the jacket, that reinstates that's it's just a Spidi in the end.

The fit is typical European tapered fit, with Safetech armors. Reise also manufactures their own specific Reise branded all-season jackets which do come with chest protector as standard and which is simply exceptional. Their gloves are Made in Indonesia and aren't Spidi, but Reise designed and manufactured, but have exceptional fit, finish and stitch quality.

Though Rynox stands out in providing VFM proposition when it comes to Level 2 armors, KNOX sliders etc, Reise Moto simply has set standards high when it comes to offering Global Powerhouse re-branded products at an affordable price without losing the essence of the parent brand.

In short double thumbs up for Reise.

Be happy to help a fellow Bhpian if they have any queries about the jacket and gloves from Reise.

Cheers!

. For folks . . ahem. . huskier than the average person, the tapered fit is a death sentence. We need to pull the jackets bottom above our rotund belly and put the zip together and then pull up the zip and push down the jacket. Its an art form i practiced on the Rynox as well, till I purchased my my current jacket ) solace furious) which is more Indian men friendly.

Thanks for your detailed explanations.

Absolutely! One of the reasons to be more fit and chiseled. Trust me, our Indian gear manufacturers are a boon in this aspect, they know our bodies and make products that are really fit friendly.

Did you check out any other Reise jackets? Is Diablo lighter compared to some of the Indian brands like Rynox for example. I saw a Rizo online which has similar armor but the specs peg it lighter than Diablo so was curious if you checked out other jackets?
Have you used it on rides yet? If so how does it compare to the gear you had earlier in terms of ventilation and comfort. Feedback would surely help since I am actively looking to replace my current set since it does not fit me well anymore (pants have gotten very lose at the waist). Thinking of the Diablo Pant as well as the Diablo jacket / Rizo jacket. Thanks in advance!

Q Did you check out any other Reise jackets?

A: Glad you asked this question. The jacket I initially purchased from Reise was Pine Air jacket. I wanted this one in black. Unfortunately, from their website, there wasn't an XL (as these run tighter) they did have an L and rest were pretty much sold out. Went for the Beige XL (which was available in stock) got it delivered in 4 days flat.

Excellent packaging of the product. Initial impressions were solid, worth the 10k asking price. Exceptional finish, excellent fit (true to size) Pine Air was comparatively lighter than my 10-year old RJays Airtech Jacket that was a 1800 Denier IIRC. The Pine Air is a 600D with Invista Cordura (engineered nylon for abrasion resistance)

The one and only give away for was the color, simply too Beige for my liking. The big KEEP ROLLING logo in the back was an eyesore, that term subconsciously wasn't ringing right (keep rolling, keep falling) oh dear!
Secondly, Beige is a dirt magnet, and once soiled no amount of cleansing with the best detergents are going to deter them away. I have a jacket that is mostly white on the torso and I know how supremely PITA a task it is to get those stains away. It's been a battle scar of sorts, and with such an expensive jacket I really didn't want that cleansing circus all over.

Opted for a replacement, got a call from them (extremely professional folks) and patient in listening to what I had to say. Mentioned my pain points, and even mentioned about the blaring logo -- a statement too bold, and to my surprise, they didn't hush a word. Simply asked me to pack the jacket with the tags unremoved, and voila got it picked up in two days.

No no-nonsense replacement policy, considering they will first check the return/replacement, a QC process ensues -- which took a couple of days and then I was called to opt for any jacket with the change being refunded. I opted for the Diablo XL and the Austra gloves instead of a refund and again the ensuing status quo was smooth and lo the jacket/glove lay in my home in 4 days flat.

Q: Is Diablo lighter compared to some of the Indian brands like Rynox for example. I saw a Rizo online which has similar armor but the specs peg it lighter than Diablo so was curious if you checked out other jackets?

I've owned a couple of jackets from different brands, and this isn't supremely light, on par with what most brands offer. The armors on the Diablo are Level 2 and are comparatively thicker and light weight. The jacket has plenty ventilation and has superb fit and finish. Mind you this isn't a casual fit, this has a tapered fit, so if one's flaunting their paunch and beer belly think twice on from your standard sizing as the fit gets tigther down.

This specific jacket is mostly a "V" tapered shape rather than "U" shape of most jackets we have. As this is a Spidi rebranded, expect most Euro fit to be tapered rather than accommodating, that's the only thing you'd want to watch out for. Go one size bigger than your standard size.

Have done only two rides and the jacket does need some time to bed in to one's clinical aspects.

Ventilation: 10
Looks: 10 +1
Quality: 10
Fit: 9 (Tapered) limited adjustability at waist
Armors:10 (though chest protectors could have been welcome)

Overall, full marks to Reise Moto when it comes to return/replacement and refund policy, extremely chuffed with their customer service to say the least.

Hope it helps!

Cheers!
VJ

Re: The Riding Gear thread

Hi, Looking for recommendations on decent riding boots. Currently ride a CBR650R and the use is mostly touring. Below are some requirements.
- I have pretty large and wide feet, would need the largest size probably.
- Waterproof if possible within the budget
- Budget 10-12k
- Ankle length with enough protection
- No lace-ups preferably.

I did some online search but could not get to a conclusion.
Solace, Raida etc. seem to have some options with the above preferences.

Any recommendations will be helpful.
Thanks

You have made a very important point which never occurred to me till now.

Any idea if the Royal Enfield jackets are made with Indian men in mind?

Visit the Royal Enfield showroom near you. They have a model that costs 10k and I got it in UK size 45. It is waterproof and meant for touring with slightly higher than ankle lenght but not as tall as MX boots. Sorry I cannot recollect the name. I have not yet started using it since I usually dont ride in monsoons. So making do with my current pair of Tourmaster boots for another month or 2 before monsoons. But the RE showroom guy mentioned that these boots are TCX rebranded boots and better compared to the RE E39 boots. I did try the E39 but the last size they had was UK 44 and I needed 45. It also felt too high rise compared to the TCX rebranded model and it was 2.9k more than the E39 which was on offer so went with it.

Royal Enfield has launched WP Wanderer boots available at 9990 Rs. Check it out. They also have a better Ryo Conquer model but mostly they are out of stock and unavailable.

I have never had the chance to try on the RE jackets but Nirvik line of gear looks to be non tapered.

Yes, and I recorded my observation here (The Riding Gear thread)

That comment was for RE Windfarer, but later on I upgraded to Nirvik which has a similar fit as well.

Re: The Riding Gear thread

I have been searching, trying out different riding gears recently and here is an update on my Jacket + Pants purchase.

I bought a Knox Urbane Pro MK3 Utility Jacket and Knox Urbane Pro MK2 Pants. Checked out various options online and Bangalore stores and everywhere the stock were limited in size and availability.

Before finalizing Knox, I had tried a Revit Tornado 2 Jacket, Royal Enfield Darcha Pro (RE-Revit collaboration), Royal Enfield Adventure XT Riding Jacket etc. Compared to them Knox felt more snugly fitting and better quality. Even though I wanted to, I couldn't check out and try some other international brands like Alpinestars, Klim etc, due to lack of availability and sizes for me. I didn't consider any Indian brands, other than some random checks at few Bangalore stores and then deciding against it.

Tried the Knox Urbane Pro Jacket at FYNX Moto, Bangalore and they only had sizes Small and Large in their store. Unfortunately, Small was really small for me and Large was really large . But it helped me finalize Medium Size as the correct size of the jacket. I found Medium size being available online with LABs (LazyAssBikers, Mumbai). Spoke to LABs support and also the Knox UK support team to check the latest models and other options available. After few back-and-forth discussions decided and placed the order with LABs. Both Jacket&Pants together cost me 50K INR. Urbane Pro MK2 pants also I decided to go with Medium Size. With some negotiations, LABs team included a Knox Chest Armour worth 4300 Rs free with the Jacket purchase. It was a reasonably smooth experience with the order and delivery of these from LABs. Received both the items in a week's time and tried it out with 2-3 short 100KM rides so far.

Jacket and Pants fits properly, and they are real snug fit, no dangling, moving around of armors. Knox Armors seems to be good quality, and they are comfortable. Utility variant has enough storage pockets on front, back and inside. Their Mesh nature on Jacket helps a lot with heat during sunny days, even though I am yet to ride and test them during extreme Indian hot-summer days. I already rode a few 100 KMs with it on higher 30 Degrees around Bangalore afternoon time and it was felt more or less ok.

Due to their snug fit, my worry currently is if I put on any weight in future the fit will become an issue, so I should take care of maintaining my BMI and weight

My current plan is to use these Know Urbane Pros, for some good period of time and see how it flares with my type of usage and rides.

Cheers,
narayanang76
