Well done sir
I too have thought of doing this many times in my mind but have never attempted one. There are so many of them on the road, I always wonder is it at all worth doing this when the morons don't care for their own lives.
I have many times blocked paths of two wheelers riding on footpath though.

What’s the point? Even after the brief showdown, the idiot still chooses to go the wrong way even though the gap in the median is just a few feet behind him.

A small moral victory for you to satisfy your ego IMHO. Don’t lose your cool and spend brain cycles for these creatures.

I believe I got BP problems after I started driving in Pune. The level of idiots here is too much now. sometimes I dread the idea of driving down even for 2 kms.

I applaud your patience sir but I too feel that you achieved nothing. That moron will not learn to abide by rules just because of this one incidence.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

While I understand that the OP might not have gained much as the biker still continued on the wrong way, I feel if everyone starts taking a stand like this, some day in future the menace of wrong side driving might reduce.

Also I understand that two wheelers chose to go on the wrong side sometimes if there is a huge traffic jam on one side, this guy here is a complete moron as I can't see any traffic on his side.

In turn he is behaving like he owns the road and done nothing wrong...
Reminds me of the quote "Hell is the impossibility of reason".

BTW don't let this be the reason for you to get hypertension/stroke. It helps thinking that these rogues are malfunctioning robots or something similar.

That biker like many others ahead (and behind him) wanted to ride hassle free on the wrong side, to duck the queue of cars.

I condemn the bikers attitude towards the pedestrian who was almost hit. She may be talking on the phone or whatever. Thats not the moron biker's business. Because after the pedestrian is attentive about the traffic moving from the left of the road, obeying the law she had crossed to reach near the road divider. No sane person would expect the insane (biker) coming from the wrong side to get his illegal right of way.The pedestrian was docile, but should have given a piece of her mind to this moron who could have been put into trouble with your @blitzkrieg dashcam video footage.

To him, it's just a normal day on the road. And nothing will happen... until it does. And actually, most of them get away with it most of the time.

I look at so many of these guys and think, you won't live long. But they do. To raise another generation driving the same way

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I was minding my own business at 30kmph in a ghat road in left lane. A motorcyclist who was in his own world drifted into opposite lane onto my path in a curve. My horn woke him up from his distraction and he went to his lane at the last moment avoiding an accident.

The video:

In my defence, I was driving slow with 100% attention to the road. I had dashcam. I horned at the earliest.

Points against me:
I did not prophylactically horn before the curve.
I did not brake or swerve but just applied horn.

I learnt from this incident and by reflex I horn and brake + or - swerve simultaneously.
This learning came to my rescue in this accident which I avoided my involvement thankfully.

This is one of the most accident prone area near Cyber City, every other day I see car drivers colliding and fighting on the road here. Most of the people coming from the left side want to go towards right side and most of the people coming from right side want to go towards left side. People like me who have to travel straight just keep saving ourselves from both sides! As the evening progresses the situation becomes worse!

We can thank our well thought out infrastructure, zero sense of lanes or right of way, just in time U turns, bikers who think the others will look out for them… i think i can go on and on.

My strategy for that stretch in peak times after this incident is a continuous honk (no i am not a guy who honks needlessly, it pains me but it is what it is).

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Had a close call with an i20 driver on the NH44. Slightly old video, but hadn't posted it earlier. The driver was apologetic (as you can see in the video). I believe I didn't crash into him because I was a bit slower due to patchy roads in that section.

Glad he realised it was his mistake and good to see him use his indicators after that. Hope he will learn from this and use his indicators from here on.
