Sorry that I'm unable to specify the price range as my folks haven't told me their budget, but I'm assuming that something like 2-3K should work to a decent modern rooms, but again I'm not sure.
MG Road is best avoided now a days as getting in and out of the hotel is going to be a humongous task thanx to the Metro(as others have rightly pointed out),best options would be to stay at walking/short distances from MG Road. Some of the options:

1.Ocea International.
2.Iris
3.Shelton Grand
4.Casa Cottage
5.Nandhini

^^^Thanks again Ranjit; I'll recommend these hotels to my folks. From the name it appears that the cost of booking the rooms will out run the cost of marriage ; Oh!!! and again, there's a mistake from my side too that I didn't mention it earlier, actually we might require anywhere between 5-10 rooms for the families from Kerala & Chennai, so the 5K per room tariffs may not work out.
