You can try Compact Panache at Marathalli (Its about 3-4 KM from Sarjapur Road and nicely connected via Outer Ring Road). The place is nice and they have covered parking space as well. Its located right after Marathalli flyover on the left (right next to Purva Riviera). An AC bedroom with a kitchen cum living room costs 1700 + taxes. They have free internet connection as well. For a small family it is quite nice. I stayed there for 15 days when I relocated to Bangalore with my family.
Contact Info:
# S3 & S4, Silver Spring Layout,
Spice Garden Compound, Marathalli,
Bangalore -560 037
Phone: +91 80 40978361/62

If money is no concern you can look at Belair service apts that are right in front of Compact Panache. They have additional amenities like gym, swimming pool etc as well. Dont know the costs there.

I have some of them on HSR Layout 27th main. Not sure how good or bad they are. They are pretty much functional and look good from outside. I think its called Ritz.

The website quotes a price of 4900/- for single occupancy. Do they have car parking?

well sir these days all the hustle and bustle is shifted from MG road and Brigade road to Koramangala , In similar budget you can look at Shilton Royal on 100 Feet Road as well this is near to Oasis Centre ( Lifestyle) , for corporates they offer package for as low as 1500/- but card rate is 5 or 6 K

Hai, seems no one (from Trivandrum) seen my above post!

self with my wife travelling down to TVM on this sunday for 3 days stay.
Shortlisted 2 hotels for my stay i.e Hotel Pankaj (opp.secretariat) and
Hotel Chaitram (Thampanur). I know well about hotel pankaj as I stayed there many times. However, this time I prefer a hotel near Railway station/Bus Stand hence thinking of booking in Hotel Chaitram. Being a KTDC(govt) controlled hotel, I am little worried about the condition (cleanliness and service) hence request your valued opinions.
Quick replies most appreciated.!

My experience with KTDC (@Guruvayoor) is similar. Cleanliness and service aspects are lacking.

I suggest you stick to the Statue area (Hotel Pankaj or Maurya Rajadhani). Thampanoor is only ~ 1.5 km away. You would get umpteen auto rickshaws.

Thanks your suggestions.
Yes, I too little worried about KTDC room conditions hence asked suggestions from our members.
Probably I will settle at Hotel Pankaj, but am checking with Maurya also.

I think this maurya is located on the GH road, from the statue, the narrow road goes down and ends up in the GH Junction???

Yes, Hotel Maurya Rajadhani is ~50 meters from Statue Junction towards General Hospital side. Remember, this road is a one way, towards GH side.

Hotel is a popular one, especially the restaurant. If you are looking to stay at a different place, this is worth considering.

BTW, the most of TVM roads are narrow, isn't it?

Yes indeed most of the roads are very narrow with heavy congestion!

I remember this hotel.
One way means, if I have to go to Thampanoor or east port area, either I have to walk up to the statue jn. and catch a Auto or take auto in front of the hotel but need to take a diversion via university, palayam, then university college, statue-- (too long, better to walk upto to statue?)

Not from Trivandrum.

You are already familiar with Pankaj, since you are with family, stay there. Check out these suggestions when you are there for your future use.

I am not good at road names. There is an Aryaas in the road (going north) bang opposite Railway station. They have rooms and lovely south indian snacks (I have not had lunch there).

You can check that too!

Thanks trrk.
Yes, I know hotel Aryanivas and Hotel Horizon etc (all in same lane), but somehow I prefer M.G.Road location. 95% I will settle in hotel pankaj- they offer free breakfast also.
I may not require lunch and dinner to be taken from any hotel as I need to attend one wedding function, then reception and also to go to couple relatives houses.

@sbraj, @trrk
Just for information (may be useful for some members )- I got offer from Maurya Rajadhani at Rs.2000/- per night (inclusive of taxes and breakfast) for an Executive club Room i.e only Rs.100 more than Hotel Pankaj. But I think Maurya being a new hotel the facilities will be much better than pankaj.
They also have package offers like 3 N/4 Days at Rs.7999/- and 2N/3D at Rs.5999/-'
The offer includes pick up/drop in from Airport/Railways station, one day trip to Kanyakumari and one day sight seeing within trivandrum etc (seems interesting), but unfortunately I cannot use any of the package since I have other commitments.

am in a confusion now - whether to finalise with Pankaj or try with the new Maurya!!
