I am surprised that the police let traffic all the way down to Maranahalli and then divert traffic towards Kadumane. The easier way would be stop traffic at Sakaleshpur (Anemahal) and divert towards Mudigere from there itself.

Instead of taking the Kadumane route, it would have been easier returning on the same route upto Sakaleshpur (Anemahal) and then turn left towards Mudigere.

Anyone travelled thru' CKM - Balehonnur route. I'm planning to visit Sringeri this week end. Last time when I travelled it was broken patches around Aldur ( i think).

I am not sure on the CKM - Balehonnur route. But you can try via Shimoga-Thirthalli. I think the roads are good all the way and time taken would be less compared to CKM-Balehonnur route.

Happy Journey:-)

I did the mistake of taking the first one at around 1030 pm !! Needed 2 hours to do 30 kms. The Amaze managed it somehow , but at some places , the underbody did hit a few boulders.

Thanks a lot Speedsatya, for sharing this.

I will be taking the Hassan-Belur-Mudigere-Charmadi-Belthangadi-Uppinangadi-Puttur option.

We (the Baraat guys for a marriage ), are leaving in a Xylo and Ertiga tomorrow morning at 6 a.m.

This diversion was applicable for both directions i.e, vehicles coming towards Sakleshpur from Mangalore side and vice versa. I was returning from Kukke to Bangalore on Sunday afternoon and this was the diversion I took to reach Sakleshpur. But the Sakleshpur-Mudigere road is very narrow to handle heavy traffic

Can we agree upon a date and time for a mini meet at Udupi? Between 29th April and 1st May preferably during evening, will work fine with me!

Did a return trip Yestrday. The ghat is clear now. Started at 10 pm and reached bannerghata at 3 am. This was the first time I did a return trip in the night. There was traffic only till uppinangady till I passed all the buses , after which it was a breeze.

This was a very relaxed drive , but with night driving comes it's share of surprises. Almost crashed into a broken down truck which was bang in middle of a blind corner. Same way , a truck had toppled near hassan and this moron had placed a wooden log hoping other drivers would crash into this log instead of the truck.

Sent from my mobile phone , please excuse typos

Its a paid app - Speed Tracker. I use an iPhone

I know it's available for android as well , not sure of Windows. But you will find so many similar apps that show speedometer and travel logs

I passed Shiradi yesterday around 4-5 PM, all were fine. There were few breakdown trucks/buses, except those it was a fine drive.

Started from Udupi around 1:30 PM, reached Vijayabank colony around 9PM with numerous kids breaks.
