I have downloaded offline maps to be on the safer side, will also keep an eye for the sirsi diversion on the Haveri-Sirsi road. Haha, I think I'll have deja-vu driving through the roads after all the help here Thanks again

Best is to keep the map ON and closely track when the NH4 crosses the Haveri-Sirsi road (on a bridge) and take a sharp U turn on the left side to get on to the ramp/service road to come back and join Haveri-Sirsi road. Ideally one should be taking a diversion to the service road before the bridge but for some reason the Map doesn't guide properly (This part of service road is also bad and longish)

Yes - that intersection is a bit tricky. Suggest to ask anyone at the intersection. Also keep an eye out for distance markers so that there is Sirsi listed and not Shimoga.

Hello everyone..how is the road from Haveri to Sirsi, lst time I had been in April it wasn't great, i was slowly breaking down.Now after monsoon I am wondering how bad it is.

Namaste Sirsi guys, how is Haveri to Sirsi road now. I heard that the road is in bad condition. Visiting this weekend from Bangalore to Sirsi, want to know if its not able by two wheeler. Your help is highly appreciated

On Saturday did Bangalore - Haveri - Sirsi and returned to Bangalore on the same day, had done same trip last year so was not expecting any big surprise but who knew from Hangal to Sirsi (approx 40 km ) there is major road revamp is under progress; its job half done and work seems to be progressing in election mode. Dust and gravel everywhere, 2 wheeler take majority of the brunt (the 4 Wheeler's leave a trail of dust from which there is no escape). Remaining distance was uneventful, during return Tumkur - Bangalore was as expected crowded as it was nearly 5:30 pm; watch out for the few of the F1 enthusiasts who place their safety in your hands. So till situation improves may be its better to use an alternate

What are the other options then - which of these is better ?
Hiriyur-Hosadurga-Shimoga-Sagar-Honnavara-Kumta
Or Chitradurga-Shimoga-Sagar-Honnavara-Kumta ?

Planning a trip to Sirsi from Bangalore during the 19th June'23 weekend along with family in a car with low GC.

Need update on the condition of the road from Haveri to Sirsi, which is getting freshly done from Hangal onwards till Hubli road junction.

Visited Sirsi last week. Started at 5 am reached by 11am, but the Haveri-Sirsi road is still under construction is huge disappointment(its been over a year still they cant finish it). Post-Akki Alur 3 to 4 stretches are particularly dusty, severely impacting visibility. 2 wheelers struggle, assume they have got used to it.

Took this exact route day b/f yesterday on 22/12/24. Roads in good condition throughout except for 2-3 kms somewhere near Soraba or Shiralkoppa (don't remember). Also, ppl going to Shirsi can take this route upto Siddapura and from there to Shirsi.

Thanks for this update. I'll be driving from Kumta to Bangalore on Sunday and planning to take the Sirsi -> Haveri -> Tumkur route. Can you let me know approximately how many kilometers are the bad stretches on the Sirsi Haveri route and if it's manageable in a SUV?

Find out if Kumta- Sirsi road is functional. It was closed some time back.

The total distance from Haveri to Sirsi is roughly 75 kilometers. Out of this, about 60 kilometers are in good condition. Approximately 10 kilometers have sections of missing asphalt due to rain and wear and tear, but these are still passable. However, roughly 5 kilometers of road are currently under construction and have been for over a year. These 5 kilometers are not a continuous stretch and appear intermittently, slowing down traffic. Even low-ground clearance sedans can navigate these sections, but they cause significant dust and mud, making travel uncomfortable

I drove from Kumta to Bangalore 3 days back. I took Kumta - Honnavar - Sagar - Shivamogga - Channagiri - Chitradurga - Bangalore. Started at 10 am from kumta. Reached Shivamogga at 1:30 pm (had lunch) and reached Bangalore (kanakapura Road) around 8 pm.

Roads throughout excellent to good. The ghat section road is wide and in excellent condition. It was a stressfree drive.
