Guess i'll give them a call.

Guys,
Arya Honda has a bluish silver 1.8S - DEC 06, in their stockyard. It's brand new and they are offering a discount of 25K. Do you guys think it's worth it?

Well, they say it is brand new, just been lying in their stock.
And 8 months! Am not going to go near that car for sure.

So i called up Arya Honda.
The Civic 1.8 AT is only available in V now and only the old models are available in 1.8S as they have discontinued the 1.8S AT.
So there go my dreams of getting a 1.8S AT with better tyres (not alloys), Nappa leather (stuck with the standard ones) and a better ICE.
Damn!!
Very stupid move by Honda.

Woooo.. thats news. they discontinued the 1.8S AT? What's the difference between the old and new model of 1.8S AT? Just the Aux in? Yup. Just checked it out on Honda site. the 1.8S MT also has the Aux in. There's no mention about the 1.8S AT there.

You can still go for the old model if the make is 2007. I'm pretty sure those would be available. Maybe you can drive a hard bargain for it.

@csentil - They aren't offering any discounts on the old models either.
I don't want to buy a car that has been in their stocks for over a month if i am not getting any discounts on them.
According to them, even Honda had 1.8S AT old stocks lying with them.
I really don't know what to do. Get a Galaxy Gray 1.8S AT or a carbon bronze pearl 1.8V AT which is just off the production lines.

Guys,
what about an Octavia Combi?
RS or LnK?
Dog will also fit in comfortably and it would be better than getting an SUV after a while.

RS is good unless you want excellent L&K trim. Hopefully your dog won't spoil the seats.

I'm not very sure on the maintenance cost aspects for the Combi. Do we have any Combi owners in our group who could comment on this?

I guess the maintainance of the Combi would be the same as the regular Octavia. And now skoda has some scheme under which maintainance is free for 3yrs or something.
The combi RS is coming for 16.5L OTR Company Mumbai, has more features than the Civic, has better ride and handling, performance (Skoda claims 0-100 in 8.5secs) and is also more safer.
But there are no discounts on the vehicle.
Anyone know if any dealer is giving discounts?

The Combi may not have a good resale value. It hardly is in demand in Kolkata at least. A couple of months ago, the dealer here was offering upto 1L discount on a Combi (forget whether it was RS or L&K).

Which Corolla model do you have ?? The 2005 Corolla has a completely reworked suspension aided by the fact that it has tubeless tires as opposed to the 2003 Corolla where it did not come with them. The 2005 Corolla (I own one) glides over potholes and bad patches effortlessly without rattling the passengers. Yes, very sharp bumps do tend to get felt in the cabin but that is because the car has been made to be an excellent handler. The car may not have the glitz of the Civic but has an understated executive elegance about it.

@samir - we have the 2003 first batch of cars. My friend however has the 2006 Corolla H5. I am not too impressed with the suspension still. And build quality for that matter either. Our corolla has gone on much tamer roads than our Palio but some of the interior plastics have become loose and are on the verge of falling off.
Also, the suspension is very very delicate.
