Sonata Transform Diesel

I have a diesel version and covered approx 8K kms - a mix of city driving and long distance. The start stop traffic in B'lore does need some constant gear shifts, but it is great on the highways - the suspension being a little soft does not give you the ultimate driver control feel though. I get around 10-11 kmpl with constant AC and go through a few bad traffic jams each day. I am 6'2" and i can sit comfortably and there is no compromise of the rear leg space. It has great space. I still have not taken it for the first service which is at 10K kms and they have 5 free service packages in total. I am satisfied with the car knowing that it is not the top end from the snob value and i have been a VFM purchaser - my previous one was a Baleno - both not being the the most popular cars. Ping me if you need any further details..

Sure GTO, Detailed ownership review is due. I am waiting for my Michelins to come in thats why I have not started using the car (wont be able to exchange if I used tires).

Lets see how much I get on my daily commute and weekend Delhi jams.

Guys one of my relative's friends in Delhi has a Skoda superb TDi which he wants to sell (they are shifting abroad). It is an end 2008 model (old shape) with black interiors with full service history. It has completed 12.5K on the odo. Do you guys think i should look to venture into a Skoda. What should be the right price for such a vehicle?

Jetta will by next month have the 2.0 TDI engine that was servicing the Passat. The PD engine is history. However, strangely, both the Trendline and Comfortline will not have automatic transmission.

You took the words right out of my mouth, so as to speak. Yes, we'll be getting the 2 litre common-rail Jettas soon enough. Don't have much info on the level of kit, but the DSG will no longer be on offer. The Passat will be out with the 1.8 TSI soon, also rumored to be in manual only and with a substantial price cut. Should be getting the details in a week or so.

Great find, This car is the ideal vehicle, it has all the bells and whistles and then some more. You are most comfortable on the huge and very supportive back seats, completely isolated from the outside world of horns, cacophony and general mayhem. On the front seat you could either be sedate or as explosive as you might want depending upon how much you flex your right foot. The engine has enough grunt to leave behind most cars in a red light drag. The engine is silky smooth and the steering is not vague either. A cousin bought a Teana during its launch year and got another one in '09 . Amongst all of his vehicles the two Teanas are the cars of choice in his household as they are practical both to drive around and to be driven in for everyday routines.

A new one I believe retails for 23+ but honestly I have no idea what should be the resale price. Carwale does list two 2007 models in Bombay with 17600 kms at 14.2 Lakhs and the second with 23000 kms at 13.5L. In this context the 2008 at 14L seems to be good price. Do check service history and follow other guidelines as posted on the forum.

Have the Jetta prices gone down? I thought the on road prices would at least 2L more. Is it not?

The Jetta prices are indeed correct. The 2.0L CRDi is expected to be launched by the first week of April with deliveries expected by end april. I had called up VW coimbatore and this is wat they had to say. The OTR price of the Jetta comfortline is indeed 17.94L because the DSG box has been scrapped..so now its a 140bhp manual..and Im completely loving that fact!!

That explains it! The Non-DSG options has pulled the prices down. Prices look more earthly now ! Also I have been asking again and again on this thread, but got no answers. What about Jetta petrol? Has there been any communication on this?

Teana is one hell of a car, just love that beauty and most Nissan machines. Its a real majestic car and at 14L seems very tempting too, if you are able to bargain a little more, it may be a total VFM purchase. All the best.

It seems Teana prices are set to fall. Source: Search google for "Nissan Teana, X-Trail to be CKDs, cheaper by several lakh rupees". It will show up a link to indian autos blog.com. If I paste a direct link it does not work.
