That's not a NEO. A320NEO has larger PW1127G engines(Indigo,Go Air) or CFM LEAP-1A engines(Air India, Vistara) as engine options.

The model that Indigo sells onboard, like yours, is the regular A320-232(wingtip fences model) or A320-232(SL -Sharklet), which are powered by IAE V2500 engines.

I have Air Asia A320-216 1/150 scale models. One a generic Air Asia India livery CFM56 powered Sharklet model and the other one regular wingtip fences model with JRD Tata livery.

You are lucky that you got the model onboard. I took four flights on Indigo recently, none of them had that model for sale onboard(out of stock).

The model is slightly incorrect as the actual VT-AXC in AIX service did not have winglets.

Thank you! No, I am not a pilot, just someone who is plane crazy and someone who keeps a keen eye on anything related to aviation. Everytime I take a flight, I always keep an eye on the aircraft type, Regn and engine type.

I have only recently re-started collecting aircraft models again. You and Foxbat are masters of this hobby of ours :-)

I desperately wish to add the Indigo A320 model to my collection. I was extremely disappointed when I could not get the model onboard.

Yes it looks like you are the real expert here, it is in fact a regular A320 with sharklets. When I got the model I noticed the box said A320 and not A320NEO but when I saw that it had sharklets I thought it was NEO and kept it.

No I wasn't really lucky to get it, I had asked on 5-6 flights for it and even lodged a complaint

Thats a nice collection, I guess the Air Asia ones were bought on the flight? how is the quality?

The 1:100 Spicejet was ordered directly from the company? was it the 6-7k one?

Same here, restarted after more than 14 years, before I used to assemble (with glue and paint) them from kits but only military aircraft.

My family thinks I was crazy at my age to be talking about how I couldn't but a A320 model on an Indigo flight, but I guess there are other people like me also

I shall keep trying and asking them on board. I just might get lucky. But chances are less.

Quite frankly, after looking at the Indigo model, i felt that the Air Asia models are much more detailed and the paint work is much crisper. I believe the model was manufactured by Skymarks/Risesoon and is available for sale on Air Asia flights. Only gripe about Air Asia models is the lack of aircraft registration on the models. They even have engine fan blades that spin. The other thing is that Air Asia models that I got are in bigger 1:150 scale while the Indigo one is in 1:200 scale.

Spicejet model is from their website - Rs 6k one. For some time during Diwali, it was available for 4k. It looks weird when viewed from certain angles, also the winglets shape is wrong on the model...but the paintwork and attention to detail is fantastic. Being fully metal, it is quite heavy.

A lot of us are in the same boat. I have a decent flight controller setup at home consisting of a HOTAS joystick, rudder pedals and a B737 type flight yoke. People think i am crazy to fly flight Sims at my age, but it is certainly not kid's play to fly it accurately. The same holds true for collecting models. To each his own poison.

The Indigo A320 is very well detailed in my opinion(one of the most detailed that I own) in terms of paintwork. Its made by www.lupa.nl .I was quite surprised when I opened the box and realized why they were charging so much for such a small model.

Here is the Indigo A320 along with an Aer Lingus A320 bought for 10 euros (Rs.750) on a flight to London. Big difference in detailing.

The Spicejet 737 does look awkward for some reason, maybe something to do with the proportions.

That Jet Airways 737 is very nice, where did you get it from ?

That's largely because they fouled up the cockpit windows proportion. Look at the gap between window and the front door, its too less.

The latest addition to my collection - Hogan 1:200 Air India Boeing 747-400 VT-EVA "Agra" - the aircraft that serves as "Air India One" on PM's foreign trips. It has optional landing gear but I chose not to fit them, instead opting to cover the gear wells with optional landing gear covers.

Looks great, I have one from Flight Miniatures but its not as detailed.
Hogan makes great models, even their economy versions are good quality and detailed.
