Yes the MD-87 was rechristened Boeing 717 after Boeing bought over Mcdonnell Douglas in ~1996 or so. The MD-80 series in turn was the new title of what was the DC-9-80 series!

For some reason despite being a Hogan Model its not very detailed nor does it have the Aircraft registration number. I think maybe because its from old stock but I do like the livery.

That is a nice looking 757.

Some Hogan models come without registration. For eg the Hogan Air India 787( in flight configuration) and some C-17s do not have registration painted on. Some models like the B737 and A320 lack wing exit guidance markings. Highly detailed models tend to cost more.

I have a Hogan Air India 787 inflight model and just noticed that it didn't have a registration after reading your comment

However at $45-$50 in the US its definitely not cheap for a plastic model, expected better for a Hogan Model at that price.

EDIT: Lack of registration might be due to some other reasons, just checked same model is available in other airline colors for the same price with registration markings.

Thanks for telling me about https://dbjets.com/

Do let me know when they have any more good models on sale

I was referring to the Hogan Air India 787 in flight model (wings flexed upwards) in the current livery. . It too does not have a registration.

Hogan's Air India 787 model in ground configuration(non-flexed wings) has a registration painted, but it lacks a stand and does not have a slot at the bottom to fix the stand. That model is meant to be kept on a flat surface with its weight on the wheels.

I don't have either, so cannot comment on how it looks. I instead have a JC Wings diecast metal Air India 787 in Star Alliance livery.

That is an awesome collection of 747s. Congratulations.

My Hogan AI 747 is VT-EVA 'Agra'. I wish the new buyer of Air India retains the airline name and reverts the fleet livery to the old livery. It looks majestic.

I am drooling over your bare metal finish Inflight Pan Am 747. It is quite something.

Thanks. Yes I noticed you have the other registration available with this model, mine is VT-ESO "Khajuraho".

Great addition to your collection
I think I need to start collecting fighter planes again.

My favorite American fighter, as a child I had assembled a 1:48 Scale F-14 and it was the pride of my collection.

Was this sourced from DB jets or somewhere else?

Thank you. The Tomcat is my favourite Navy jet as well.

I got it from Aliexpress. But the model is extremely lightweight, fully made of plastic and very delicate. It may not last long. The Hornets are metal and were sourced from DB Jets.

I was lucky that inspite of the weakish and obscure looking outer cover, nothing happened to the model in transit, considering the football that is played between customs and logistics companies. With Aliexpress shipments, you run a risk of mishandling/deliberate vandalism by Idiots in Customs or the Logistics Co. If it arrives in damaged condition, not only is it heartbreaking, there is not much you can do either to claim a refund or complain.

re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

An Indigo pilot friend of mine was kind enough to gift me this Indigo A320 model from his collection. Almost impossible to get these days. Same one that Foxbat has (manufactured by Lupa models)

Type : Airbus A320-232(SL)
Regn : VT-IFZ
Airline : Indigo Airlines
Serial number : 5952
First flight : 22/01/2014
Engines : 2 x IAE V2527-A5

With the other 1/200 A320 in my collection. The PIA one is Hogan. Somehow I find the Hogan mode l to be more accurate

Yeah....all thanks to my friend . I had given up all hopes of getting one as i was told that Indigo too has very less stock of this particular Lupa model and its available on select photos.

The Hogan model is completely out of stock and if you ever come across a chance to buy one onboard, don't ever let that chance go by. That model(VT-INB non-sharklet) is much more detailed than the Lupa one.

re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

Bought this JASDF McDonnell Douglas F-4EJ Phantom from Mumbai airport. Diecast. Scale 1:80. Hogan. I simply adore the superb detailing and proportion of Hogan. Sandesh & Foxbat - thank you for introducing me to Hogan. Japan's Mitsubishi license built the Phantom with some modifications for the JASDF. 2 Squadrons are still in service I believe. The 'J' in the designation is for Japan. The 'E' came later when upgrades were installed with reconnaissance and (I think) electronic interdiction ability

Photos of one of the aircraft show cases with a close-up of one box. My wife refuses to let me place them anywhere but my study or the TV room. Poor me. In 31 years I haven't convinced her that my beauties should adorn the drawing & dining rooms.

After all these years and so many models later I am still as happy as an eight year old with a double cone of ice cream. I never tire from admiring my models. Next in line will be a Avro Lancaster (on order with Corgi) and the HAL Rudra made to order by FDM.
