We seem to have the same preferences in military aircraft also.

What scale are the models?

I remember when I was 11-12 years old I built a Bf-109 flying model made of Balsa wood which was huge (something like 1:16 or 1:20 scale). It was another thing that it would hardly fly

BTW I visited that model store in Singapore that you mentioned, it hardly had anything worth buying. Will check Singapore airport on my way back.

Foxbat, great enthusiasts (like minds) think alike. Incidentally LKO is also my home town though now I have no one there except for one uncle. The models booked are both 1:72 so I suspect they will around 6" in length or so. I love your handle. I would have loved to see your BF balsa model. Sorry to hear the S'pore shop was a disappointment. Online sites may be killing it.

How did you know I am from Lucknow?

Yes online is the way to go. If you have a US delivery address than these two websites have really great bargains:

http://www.theairplanecollection.com/

http://www.diecastairplane.com/

From the last one got a Hogan 787 1:200 for $10 and Diecast 727 1:200 for $35!

re: Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships

I preordered a Silk Air Boeing 1/200 737-800 for my Singapore trip. Spent a lot of time at the airport and stores looking for some more options but found nothing. So I thought I would have to be happy with just this one until I started to assemble it:

Scale Models - Aircraft, Battle Tanks & Ships-img_20171211_021332.jpg

Unfortunately it has two left wings

Anyone know where I can get a spare right wing? Tried emailing the manufacturer but got no response yet.

That is pure bad luck and feel sorry for you.

The only spare parts you can get for openly for most Hogan airliner models is the landing gear set. I got a spare landing gear set for my Hogan AI 777-200LR (i broke the nose gear door and left main gear).

Unless the model manufacturer or the shop that you bought it from helps you, I am afraid you are stuck with an incomplete model. Raise it strongly with Hogan(assuming it is the brand).

No its from Premier Planes:

https://www.premier-portfolio.com/pr...-model-planes/

I had ordered it from www.krisshopair.com which is the official inflight shop of Singapore Airlines and all subsidiaries, no reply from either one till now. Premier Planes doesn't even have a complaint process, only sales contact.

Excellent acquisitions, I really like the detail on the diecast models.

Did anyone buy a Spicejet model onboard a flight?

I was checking into my Spicejet Flight and came upon this:

https://www.spicestyle.com/product-d...lectible-28~47

The Scale is not mentioned by going the dimensions given its 1:200.
But Rs.938 for a Diecast model? seems to be too cheap. I also remember asking for one on a flight from Goa and the box was so small it had to be 1/500 or 1/400 scale.

Yes. That they certainly are.
Dimensions of the the 777-300ERs (L x W X H) : 14.52 x 12 X 3.61 inches / 36.93 x 34.48 x 9.26 cm

The Air India Boeing fleet. The 737 belongs to AIX but it still part of Air India. I have a diecast Air India A320neo, but it is in 1:400 scale and it would have looked odd and tiny, had I put them in between the Boeings.

Yes. if I compare the Hogan plastic 777 with the Inflight diecast 777, I can easily make out the huge difference in detailing.

Better avoid this one. It looks one of those cheap, ugly and tiny Chinese models available online. From some angles, it does not even look like a 737. As per the dimensions on the website, it looks like 1:200 (but it is still smaller than an accurate Hogan 1:200 737-800).
The bigger one is big and looks decent (but after getting it, I noticed it has many modelling mistakes). Size wise, it may be similar to your 1:100 LH A320.

Great Collection!

I would love get get the bigger planes in diecast (747, 777 or 787) but they are expensive and also hard to transport especially in luggage.

I have the Hogan Air India 777-200 and 737 also but I have to get it from the US in January. Thanks for the info about the Spicejet Models, will avoid both.

Congratulations. Solid loyalty to Air India. The 787 with the Star Alliance livery really rocks.

Not loyalty to Air India per se, its just that Air India got more attention from scale model manufacturers than other Indian carriers.
