re: The Coronavirus Thread

Probably should have added how any medical store giving it out without prescription will be punished. Like the junta curfew many will try to self dose regardless of other stuff mentioned in the advisory.

Totally depends on you walking route.
We walk in our society, but:
1. Do not touch anything outside home (we take the stair so no touching lifts, buttons etc.)
2. Go usually at odd hours when there is hardly another soul present
3. Do not touch any benches on walls, or metallic chairs, seating, etc.
4. Maintain a good 2 meter distance from anyone else
5. Our society is pretty much under lockdown with no outside people allowed in, so we further mitigate risks
6. Carry a pocket sanitizer, in case required
7. Wash hands/ face on our return. Put the clothes in laundry

If you can add few more precautions to these, if not these, you should be fine.

re: The Coronavirus Thread

28 new cases from Kerala today as per Government of Kerala app. 19 seemingly due to the hero of Kasaragod

I hope he gets put behind the bars and has his passport revoked once he is cured!

Highest daily spike in Singapore as well. 54 cases of which 48 are imported.

Avoid. Nothing will happen if you don't go for that evening walk for the next two weeks. It simply is not worth the risk even with all the precautions. For the next two weeks, unless absolutely necessary, do not venture out.

Definitely go but go out with one person (not more not less) and nearby your home only. Don't go to gardens. Empty streets will be equally good now. At max if someone asks, tell them you are goimg to buy meds or milk. Wear protective clothing as recommended by all.

What protective clothing one can wear to prevent the infection? AFAIK, most people are wearing masks, but even that is useless as per the recommendations from WHO.

What I meant is don't over expose your self to the elements like we usually do during our walks, runs. Better to wear full pants and shirts along with the obvious mask. And obviously- dont get too close to other people on the road, known or unknown.

This may make it feel that it is better to not to go out but going out is only to ensure that we remain sane during this unusual stay at home.

The 19 are Dubai returnees, not the Primary contact of Kasargod guy. That idiot would have transmitted to those residing in Kerala. He could have started the community spread stage which is going to be a disaster if we see how things unfolded in Italy and Spain.

Clinic completely shut down since Saturday. People in Bihar also are taking lockdown too lightly. But police enforced it with clamping down on traffic. Some patients did come today and asked why my clinic was closed when the government has exempted private health setups? I explained to them my reasons as well as reasons why they should stay in home and they left. All the OPDs in my city have been shut. Only emergency cases are being taken up.

The new 19 are not through that guy. These are abroad returnees. Have to wait fingers crossed for the next couple of weeks, that is when you know how many cases surface due to that guy. Rumours has it that he was indulging in gold smuggling and is reluctant to furnish details of his travel and places visited.

Go onto your terrace maybe for that much needed change. Else, do yoga, aerobics, dance or another physical activity at home for that adrenaline rush and endorphin release to stay fresh. I prefer yoga. Or as a Bhpian go clean and detail your car inside out.

re: The Coronavirus Thread

Guys my friend is stuck at a Bangalore PG and she is to take a flight to her home town tomorrow. She is worried there are no cabs tomorrow. Is there news on cab transport services not being available tomorrow? If not what are the options?

Airport metro bus.

Call the airport to check for available transport options to the airport.

Check with your airline operator - they may have staff buses plying in the city at certain hours, long shot though.

Check in to a decent enough star hotel that provide complimentary pick up/ drop to the airport.

However, have not read about unavailability of Ola, Uber, Meru.

Entire state is slated to be under lockdown from tomorrow. So, no cabs, autos or buses available. Besides, all domestic flights too have been halted. It would be better for your friend to stay put, until the situation improves.
