saw 'nuovo cinema paradiso' yesterday night and i would rate it 9/10..
excellent acting, screenplay with a simple storyline but the execution and the depiction of old italian lifestyle is top notch
some scenes leave an everlasting impression on you.

watching a movie like this just forces me to think that what bollywood dishes out is utterly crap. There might be some extreme exceptions but generally its all crap. Here the directors take their viewers for ride and all they think about is how to make a movie more profitable rather then the actual filmamking. i feel sad.

Fashion : Tends to be predictable at times. But still a good movie, worth a watch.
I would give it 3/5.

Fashion: 1/5.

Easily among the worst movies I have seen. The pace is slow, ultra slow.

The movie is cliches galore. The movie shows what an average person believes happens in the fashion industry. Where is the research that Madhur Bhandarkar claims was done to make this movie? If following cliches and newspaper headlines is research and a pre-requisite for making a 'realistic' movie then even I can make a movie like that!

Good to see more people who didn't like the movie. Watched it last night and I think it was a waste of time/ effort. A movie I would have rather watched at home on TV/DVD.

The overall package could have been a lot shorter/better.

Saw " Disturbia" last weekend.

It is quite a nice teenager-cum-suspense-cum-thriller movie. It is certainly worth watching once or maybe twice too. 3/5

1920 - (Hindi)

Another one from Vikram Bhatt. This one has no major star cast to talk of, and features new comers Rajneesh Duggal and Ada Sharma.

For those who have seen the 'Exorcist', this one offers nothing new in terms of content. Its a more lcoalised version, with some pale story thrown in, which also left some unanswered questions for me.

Effects and background score is good, and unlike RGV spookers, this one doesnt rely too much on crazy sounds to scare.

For first timers, Ada (Lisa) has done a good job, and the way her pretty face transforms into a scary one is nicely done. Rajneesh troops around in his suits, like the Raymond adverts, but there was nothing special as such about his portrayal.
The person playing the priest also deserves a mention.

The story on the whole was disappointing, and i would suggest a watch just to pass some time, and nothing more.

Bennyboy Rating : **

Modern version of Hitchcock's Rear Window. Not a patch on the original but still a good timepass.

I saw Coen Brothers' latest offering, Burn After Reading. Story of two gym workers who think they have in their posession the secrets of an ex-agent, and try to sell them off. Brilliant acting by John Malkovich, who plays the ex agent. Add George Clooney and Brad Pitt to the concoction, and you have a classic comedy/satire. 4 out 5.
