Watched "Milk" yesterday. Decent movie, although I found the frequent lip locking between men distasteful. Rather preferred the Cruz-Johansson lock in Vicki Cristina. Sean Penn turns in a powerful performance as the Gay Rights activist. James Franco is good as well. Cannot call it a must watch, but decent timepass.

Watched " Taffin" yesterday. It's about a one-man army trying to protect the environment of a small Irish town and pits himself against some corrupt politicians and local council people.

Decent time-pass and this movie ends in a very abrupt fashion, i didnt like that at all.

Pierce Brosnan looks totally unkempt throught the movie ( so un-bond like) and has a awesome charm. Go see it only for him.

Underworld : Rise of the Lycans - Its a prequel to the Underworld series.
A nice action movie with a decent plot.
I think there will be a 4th Underworld movie as well.

Billu Barber ( Barber has been "Shaved" off)

I have only one word. It's a long and boring movie. The ambience is a.k.a Malamaal Weekly Lottery but, it was not striking any chords here as it did in that movie.

SRK is a popular movie star who visits this small remote village in U.P to shoot some part of his new film. He seemed quite dis-interested and looked out of place in the movie, except the last 15 minutes where he delivers a speech, just awesome.

Lara Dutta from any angle does not look like a villager.

Irfaan Khan was superb in his restrained and unique style that he is now known for.

Asrani and Ompuri were practically wasted. Rajpal Yadav shows his brilliance in a couple of scenes. He's a poet/writer and recites to SRK a poem which is a song from one of his movies as asks him to give him a chance as a writer in his movies..Hilrious stuff

Another horror is a song breaks-out every 15 minutes ( literally) without any warning and is an absolute pain. None of the songs are worth humming.

In short, stay at home and its not worth watching this movie even once.

Surprisingly, Priyadarshan commented somewhere after completing this film that he was happy to know that he can really make some good films

Billo

A bollywood superstar comes shooting in a remote village. His childhood friend (now a barber) lives in the same village in abject poverty. Word spreads that the barber is a friend of the superstar and the barbers life changes overnight. Everyone wants him to take them to the superstar for various reasons. Will the barber do it ? Will the superstar remember his old friend?

SRK plays SRK (in a hugely self glorified avtaar with a jacket that says KING KHAN in chains - ughh) while Irfan plays the barber.

SRK has nothing to do but do item numbers and a couple of stunt sequences. Also he starts off quite irrritatingly with the speech in the climax but finishes superbly. Irfan Khan is brilliant (watch him in the end with his kids) , Lara doesn't look like a villager but as an actress is competent. The rest of Priyadarshan's favorite cast is also there - Asrani (wasted), Rajpal (wasted and too irritating) , Om Puri (good as usual) and the other barber in the nukkad mix (good).

Music is not worth while the cinematography and production are good. The SFX are tacky. The direction felt as if on remote - felt as if we have watched the characters on the same kind of sets and similar get ups in Priyan's earlier movie.

Verdict - 2/5
- Watch it absolutely if you have time to spare or are a huge SRK / Irfan fan.
