Is this umbrella scene the same which they show in the promos on TV? That song sung by Shankar Mahadevan is quite likeable but wasted in an umbrella scene. No I havent seen the movie. I may watch it if it comes out on BigFlix and that will be soon enough I'm sure.

BTW Deshdrohi releases in Mumbai on the 23rd The promos are back on air. Movie meet anyone?

Until 2 years ago he was going about interviews saying that he is in the same league as the top 3 Khans. If he really was in that league, why did he have to go OTT and profess it publicly?

Guys if you wanna watch senseless/keep your brains aside and watch kinda movies please watch dubbed versions of Rajni kinda movies. Do you think we Indians deserve to be called intelligent for watching such movies after actually paying for tickets and making these guys highest paid superstars/demi-gods/idols/ideals?!

Despite numerous protests from my side, I had to be subjected to the torture of watching Chandni Chowk to China last night. Usually I try to get some sleep when presented with a situation of this sort, but this new theater with non-functional surround speakers had an unusually loud main system and all my efforts were in vain. I do not want to recount any scenes from the movie for fear of further mental trauma.

Saw Slumdog Millionaire yesterday.

Beneath all the hooplah associated with the movie, people seem to be missing the positives of the movie. Its almost as if they are expecting to be hit by a lightning bolt when watching this movie. Anyhoo, the direction of the movie is refreshing. Alright flashbacks are passe but if done properly, they do add to the movie. Thumbs up to the movie for superb acting and great direction that kept me interested in the movie. Credit for story goes to the author of Q&A though, not to anyone associated with the movie.

One thing that i did not like was the unnecessary stereotyping of Anil Kapoor's character. The story could have done without it i think.

@ Dippy and F450
: I am not telling you about the umbrella scene. On my friends recommendation, I am faking "short term memory loss" after seeing the movie to avoid discussing it.

But the scene in which they use a red umbrella as a parachute while flying over present-day Shanghai is worth the ticket cost alone.
Three stars?

I feel this movie is much over hyped. I do not dare to say the acting was not up to the mark, but I felt the movie was streched a bit. How come a guy of around 10-12 years of age gets to go to TAJ and some foreigners believe also. I have been to Taj around 10 times but have not seen something like that. Too much poverty has been shown. I liked the guy's acting but somehow the editing was erratic. Too many oscillations between the past and present. The scene in which the Chaiwala was made to answer the call in the call center was very funny and I fail to understand from where these people get this weird idea from. Moreover Anil Kapoor was kinda OK. Irfan was underused and the same can be said about Mahesh Manjrekar.

May be a one time watch but definitely not an Oscar entry and in no way it deservves a 5/5. If any movie was made to enter Oscar in last 2 years then it had to be Tare Zameen Par and Chak De.

Cc2c

Why did they make this movie in the first place? I booked tickets for PVX Phoenix, First the drive there on a sunday & the traffic & parking was horrendous. What takes 20 minutes to reach from bandra to the parking lot, took 1 hr 10 min. Then even though i heard bad reviews of the movie, we still thought ok so now we know that its bad so lets see how bad it is; atleast we can see some good locations. Gosh! I don't think i have ever ever squirmed in a movie theatre since years, the last time i did that when i saw Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India. And i vaguely recall that movie had something similar to the umbrella scene in CC2C. What a waste of precious money. Akshay Kumar has undone whatever good he did for his career with this one movie, in comparison his dumb movies like singh is king, welcome, etc. seem like classics. Utter Nonsensical Garbage! I need to go for Vipassna... mentally disturbing movie... i want to sue them for mental torture.

AK Rating:
#@#%$%% / 5

For the overhype, blame the pea brained media, not the movie.

Movies do tend to "stretch" a bit, otherwise there wont be a difference between a documentary and a movie. Regarding the storyline, maybe those questions are better off directed towards Vikas Swarup than Danny Boyle.

Well, there is "too much" poverty in India. Whats wrong with portraying that? Its not the first movie to do so. We are perfectly ok with an indian making a movie about India's poverty but not when a brit does that??

Also, SM will not go into Oscars as an Indian entry. So it does not compete with the likes of Taare... and Chak De.

If you have watched the original you will know the What's UP scene.
Now imagine that in Kya Horela Ha

Am not gonna miss this the next time it plays.

Whoever is planning to go for Deshdrohi, please do not waste your precious money. It the most utter crap horendeous piece of crap movie i have ever seen. Even wedding videos are shot better. The scenes feel like it has been shuffled like a pack of cards and arranged randomly. Its so bad that once you see it, you would wow to wack the actor if you saw him in public.

Well .. I do agree there is too much poverty in India but my problem is why potray that in such a way ? I absolutely do not have a problem with the nationality of the producer or director and I did not comment on it.

Maybe someone can carry a handy Tattoo pack.
They can tattoo what happens in a scene and refer to this when confused or forget something.

This is the modern way of keeping track of things.

If only I had tattooed where I left my mind.
