re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Started watching 'Containment' on Amazon Prime yesterday and got so hooked that almost through with S1. It's a medical thriller set in Atlanta where a section of the city has been put under forced quarantine as a deadly viral fever sweeps across the city. A refreshing change from the 'zombie apocalypse' genre which, after the first few seasons of the Walking Dead, has become predictable. Like the way some of the moral issues, which inevitably rise in a crises situation, is tacked in this series. Sadly, there will not be a second season.

Interesting... But does S1 finish well or was the story to be continued ? If it is anything like how Forever ended, I am not watching.

10 down, 3 more episodes to go, so far so good. Love it for how some of the characters have developed and the manner in which they tackle moral/ethical dilemmas. The pacing is good and things look pretty grim - for the protagonists I mean. Me likey!

What is Forever about and is it on Prime?

Forever - A 200-year-old man works in the New York City Morgue trying to find a key to unlock the curse of his immortality.
It was quite interesting, had good characters and S1 ended on a cliffhanger but S2 was scrapped so it was quite disappointing.
Not sure if it is on Prime, I do not use it.

Took Amazon Prime membership last week. Downloaded the app yesterday and watched a Hindi series called "Lakhon mein ek". Deals with the IIT coaching. Watched all six episodes. A good watch.

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere, but just finished binge watching 'Making a Murderer' on Netflix. An exceptionally gripping real life story of a man who is jailed TWICE for no mistake of his (atleast that's how I felt). Was a very emotional ending and I literally shed a couple of tears for the nephew of the man convicted who is also jailed. The title score is amazing and this was the first series where I skipped the 'Skip Intro' button.

Scary, seeing how the American Law Enforcement and Judicial systems can bring its complete force into convicting a man whom they think as the accused. The courtroom proceedings towards the end are just mind boggling, seeing how the defense literally shatters every evidence posted by the prosecution.
Confession Tapes is another similar series on how forced confessions make or break a case.

For those who have Hotstar premium, check out the mini series 'The Night of'.
8 episodes - a total of around 10 hours.
Theme - Murder mystery.

Finished watching Stranger Things 2 on Netflix. I was apprehensive that Season 2 would not match up to Season 1. However, Season 2 is even better. I really hope there is a Season 3 on the cards.

Trying to find another binge-worthy show now. Any suggestions?

Maybe its just me.. but i didn't really enjoy Stranger Things - both seasons.
The first 2-3 episodes in Season 1 were intriguing, but then it went way overboard IMHO.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Binge watched "Big Little Lies" after hearing about it from a couple of people.

A very honest take on the dark side of today's relationships: husband-wife, between kids and spouses and their exes. The shows keeps you intrigued in the sense that you want to know what happens next or how the characters get closure.

Some scenes can get disturbing so this is strictly adults only. Spectacular acting from the entire cast though, especially Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman.

5/5

Eagerly waiting to watch the "Talwars" episode on Star World starting Nov. 26th 10PM. This would be available for a offline watch on Hotstar too.
