Khakhee: The Bengal Chapter - Netflix
3.5*/5
Engrossing watch, manages to keep you hooked. But lacked the charm and appeal of the first season i.e the Bihar chapter.

This storyline did not appear as if it was something unique to Bengal, and I suspect you could have plonked the story into any state setting and it would still have worked.

One time watch.

The Eternaut on NetFlix: 4/5

Apocalyptic, dystopian sci-fi, alien attack shows and movies are my favorite! To that end, this is a fantastic Argentinian show that I binge watched last weekend.

Excellent CGI, beautiful but haunting landscape, great acting and a different take on aliens - this show had me hooked right from the beginning.

If you are a fan of this genre, I think it is a must watch. For what it is worth, the English language dubbing is far better than many other foreign language shows. Poor, fake sounding dubbing always grinds my gears but not this one. Great work whoever worked on it.

Watched S1. Apart from the hard to believe fight scenes (in the context of the disability), the series is OK. Will watch the next 3 seasons too.

Anyone watching Andor on Disney?

Season 2 gets 5/5 or 10/10 from me.

The latest couple of episodes have been absolutely incredible. If you guys haven't yet, definitely give this series a try though a little knowledge of Star Wars franchisee is needed.
IMO it's the best in whole franchise. Amazing TV content.

The Royals: Netflix

I could only suffer through about 30 mins of the first episode (total run time of 40 mins). It seems utterly rubbish from those 30 mins. Not sure if it transforms with a dramatic turnaround in later episodes.

Gram Chikitsalaya Amazon Prime

A nifty series from the makers of Panchayat and they have actually retained the same formula while replacing Sachivji with Amol Parashar playing a doctor from the city. Rest of the five part series has sameness written all over it. Slice of life, quirky humour and some good acting- good watch. Not much of an original but watchable for its clean content. Good filler as we all wait for the next season of Panchayat.

Amazon Prime - Cross.
Derived from James Patterson novels based on his famous character Alex Cross.

Just started the series, it’s slick and superb. I have read plenty of Patterson novels in the past and none have disappointed. A must see for those who like the mystery, crime, thriller genre.

Cheers

Damn. I was not even aware that this series is available on Prime. Thanks for sharing.

I too have read many of his books and quite a few of them have also been adapted for movies which were box office hits.

He is truly a great writer and will put him in the same category as Robert Ludlum, David Baldacci and Michael Connelly.

Going into my watchlist. Don't know when I will watch it but, hopefully soon.

Yellowstone - Season 5

Yellowstone is one of my favourite series and I have loved Season 1-3. Season 4 was meh. Season 5 E1-8 were good. E9 which came after 1.5 year gap had an unsettling start. However having seen upto E10, I would say is getting there.

The Royals

Streaming: Netflix

Should have been title the The Royal Bores. What a underwhelming series, deserves to be the Lemon of the webseries. The plot is absolutely pathetic. Ishaan Khattar seems to be compensated but without clothes, Bhumi Pednekar is looking worst after all those botox treatments I guess. Was surprised to see the yesteryear hottie Zeenat Aman sans any acting. I would advise to stay away as I did after seeing 3 episodes.

Rating: 0.5/5

Gram Chikitsalay
OTT : Prime
3/5

As Abhi rightly put, this seems to be like a "Filler" before the next season of Panchayat comes up and looks like heavily inspired by Panchayat and seems like it's poor cousin.

None of the actors including my favorite-Vinay Pathak stood out (except his one monologue at the dinner event) and everyone seems to be like the caricatures copied from Panchayat. Now take the actors like Raghubir and Jitender who infused some remarkable life to their characters along with every actor in Panchayat who were able to connect to the audience. Here there is no such connection.

I stopped 3/5 episodes and unsure if I should continue. Should I?

No, unless you want to know the end.

Next season could be in the pipeline.

I had the same feeling about "Dupahiya" (1/5). You are being too generous with 3/5 rating. All these shows trying to duplicate Panchayat's charm are a fail.

This show left me with mixed feelings. I was heavily interested in it for the first half, then slowly lost steam and by the end, I formed an opinion that if they don't renew it for season 2, I won't get mad.
