re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Watched a couple of episodes of This is Us, on Amazon Prime.

The plot revolves around a family: three siblings and their respective lives, and a flashback to their parents' when the kids were born.

While I tend to enjoy drama, this one is way too much drama, get overwhelming. Not sure I'm going to keep watching.

Completed 'Altered Carbon' - entire season in less than a week.
I would say that the show delivered about 70% of what it had promised in the opening episodes, with a few extra storylines & open loops.
Nonetheless - a very entertaining show based on a novel concept.

LOL! No, John, nothing of the sort. The series caught our fancy with the way the plot unraveled. Done and dusted with both seasons now.

Long time, how have you been?

Caught up with the Amazon mini TV series Breathe. Its a good story about the making and catching of a serial killer and they could not have chosen an actor better that R Madhavan for the lead. Good to see that the standard of hindi TV is improving.

However, you will still need to accept on how easily committing a murder and causing other medical conditions is portrayed. And doing all of that with complete anonymity and without anything going wrong is sheer cinematic liberty and beyond logic. If you can ignore this, it's a good series. 8 episodes of 40 minutes each.

My rating = 4/5

Loved Altered Carbon, I will be honest, I was skeptical but throughly enjoyed the fast paced storline and overall direction. Good cast made watching a pleasure.

Is the season over or are there still some episodes to come? Will start watching once the entire season is available.

Don't know if this has been shared before, but I've been watching this show since the last couple of days. Found it to be quite good with it giving a lot of knowledge about over landing.

Their video quality is amazing with great footage about various countries the group travel to. Full episodes are on youtube.

Show Name - Expidition Overland

Done watching the entire series and liked it. Had to wait for the last two episodes, aired every Monday.

Another series I started watching on Prime is "Goliath".
So far I am half way through and I am loving it. Billy Thornton is his usual self acting as a "once awesome, now gutted" lawyer and watching it after Suites is quite refreshing as it is nowhere like the glamorous Suits.

Thanks for the recommendation! I absolutely loved it and completed almost half the season over the weekend.

It is very similar to black mirror on Netflix, maybe a little less hard-hitting. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Very well done !!
I don't know if the episodes running currently are repeats or fresh, but the weekend story was pretty good. It was shown in two parts:

Started watching Goliath this past weekend.

Splendid show, with the terrific Billy Bob Thornton in the lead.

We started watching TGW and found the first 2-3 seasons quite interesting. It then lost steam in between, till it gathered pace in S4 and and now on to Season 5.

Kalinda, well she is like the super woman who has a solution to everything.
The word 'impossible' doesnt exist in her dictionary. LOL!

AMAZON’s “Lord of the Rings” TV show has a 5 season and nearly a Billion dollar budget. I guess with GOT coming to an end, this TV show could takes its place. The movie was great, so I hope this will be too. Can’t wait for it to aired.

After completing all seasons of ELEMENTARY, started watching SUITS. Great show !!

Sometimes, Harvey Specter seems too unreal and ideal. But, its fiction, so enjoy while it lasts.

Highly recommended show.
