Finished watching Homeland season 7. Huge let down with cheesy & predictable storyline.
From the heights of season 1 to the low of season 7, dread how the final season will turn out to be.

Elementary Season 6 is now up and running. Season 6 Episode 1 was uploaded yesterday on Amazon Prime. Story mostly revolves around Sherlock's deteriorated health. There was a nice dialog which Sherlock is says to Joan,
"it's such an indignity that doctor tells me that my brain is "normal" after the MRI" 😀

For Edd China (from Wheeler Dealers fame) fans, here's a new series in YouTube.
Bit slow, for a pilot episode, nonetheless liked it.

Exactly my thoughts. It felt like this S7 lacked the soul that the beginning seasons (1-3) had. Final season will be coming up but I guess I will just see it for the heck of it.

Anyone watching Killing Eve (8.8 imdb).
4 episodes are out and its been a fast paced thriller with beautiful portrayal by the 2 leading ladies.

Started watching British series 'The Missing' on Amazon Prime, off to an impressive start. Let's see how it goes.

Started watching Season 3 of 'How to get away with murder' on Netflix.
So far seems to be a better watch than Season 2. However, no comparison to Season 1, which was fresh and gripping.

Really surprised Making a Murderer hasn’t made this thread so far...

A Netflix documentary, I can attest that it is more engrossing than many fictional dramas I have watched. Rated 5*

It is a documentary / drama about Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in jail for a crime he did not commit. He got out based on DNA evidence, only to be sent back to jail for a murder in 2 years. All this is in the description somewhere so I am not revealing any spoilers here. Besides, it is true story so people can just look it up on wikipedia.
As for the series, it is very well made, keeps you engrossed and involved. It is a must watch in my books.

Food: Anybody here has watched Chef's Table (Netflix)? If you are into modern food, this one is a visual treat.
Also, there was a series called World's Best Chefs (featuring Chef Katie Button). This series is so rare that there is no mention of this anywhere except TV.

Entertainment: Doctor Who, Top Gear, Grand Tour, The Office (US), Sherlock

True that. Amazing series and the darkest part is that, I still can't digest the fact that 'it' actually happened to a person. 5* and must watch.

Just finished watching the season finale of 'The Terror'. Cold, dark, mysterious and classy. 5* and thanks to everyone here who recommended it.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Deception (Amazon Prime) is really picking up steam now. Latest episode was quite a ride. The only thing that bugs me a bit is how long are they going to drag the plot of finding the villain and keep the twin brother in the jail. Hopefully, season-2 will have a different plot. But, its a great watch. And BTW, the lead actor resembles our own Hrithik Roshan almost 90% IMHO. His voice, his body language, hand movements, smile and lots of other characteristics.

I also started watching Scorpion. This is based on a true story of a person called Walter Obrien. Great script, good action and all the package.

Coincidentally(?), there are lots of common elements in these two series:

* One brilliant mind (Cameroon Black in Deception & Walter Obrien in Scorpion),
* One government agent (Kay - an FBI agent in Deception, Cabe - a Homeland security officer in Scorpion)
* One Asian character who is prodigy in their own field (Jordon in Deception, Happy in Scorpion)

Also, both series have a mix of people from different communities, Americans, Asians, South Americans, African-American, etc.

Another important good thing about these two series is that they have no explicit or adult contents. So, I also allow my 9 year to watch these series. Unfortunately, she now thinks Indian TV series are completely useless (barring very few exceptions)

As much as I enjoy deception. Sadly, ABC has cancelled it. There won't be a second season. Too many shows I enjoy have been cancelled this time.

Damn !!! You are right. I was about to watch "The Crossing" but that's also cancelled by ABC. Madness. It seems Deception clashed with American Idol which is a more revenue generating show anytime. So makes sense from business point of view, but I prefer Deception to American Idol.
