In fact, after walking up the stairs for 5 floors, I almost had a blackout and my entire body was feeling very cold from inside. I was scared a bit. None of my family/relatives have had heart conditions or any other chronic ailment. I fear that this may be symptoms of a clogged heart (??) but I am just paranoid. Can this be just due to lack of exercise or any other activity?
May not be a weak heart could instead be poor breathing.

Use this to identify a workout you would like and try it for a few days.

I would also recommend a full medical at a good diagnostic center.

A thorough physical exam (All vital systems like cardiovascular, respiratory, central nervous system, and musculoskeletal systems) similar to what they do for fresh army recruits would be more than enough for you.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

This is related to Esophagus stent. One of my female relative, staying in NorthEast is suffering from cancer in the food pipe and doctor has suggested to go for a stent, SEMS.
We found only one guy dealing and he quoted a price of 60k. Two other I found in the net, based in Delhi, they quoted prices around 20-30 thousand.

What would doctors here recommend as a brand? Also any experiences of what to look out for, would immensely help.

Thanks in advance.

Re: vaccines?

As part of USCIS immigration medical check up, i would have to take some vaccines like DTaP, Tdap, MMR, RPR, Hepatitis A n B and Varicella. Are there any side effects of these vaccines and can these be taken within short intervals of each other?

Please advise.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

I have a power of -0.5 . Have been using specs since 6 years. Problem is i cant wear specs continuously especially when at work looking at monitor. This happens outside work too but less frequently. After 3-4 hours i start getting pain in and around eye balls and nose bridge. Have got all possible tests done and all reports say OK. The glasses are high quality Crizal Air ware. If i remove the glasses then i can feel the relief in 10-15 mins!

Any idea why it could be happening?

You should not be wearing your glasses when you are working at close distance like on computer. I have heard many people including doctors say that glasses should be worn all the time, and here's why you shouldn't.

you have negative power, which means your eyes are short sighted. which means they have become accustomed to close distance work over the years and need help dilating when looking at far distance. By using your glasses AND doing work at close distance, you are making it worse, making them accustomed to close distance with those glasses, and they will need much stronger power to see far distance very soon. Not to say extra strain to focus.

You should only need them when looking at more than 5 feet or so. That's my guestimate based on your current power. I have gone from -0.5 to -1.0 in about 16 years and I have been doing the same.

Same with saturated fats, if you can handle it, it's much better than chemically activated oils that release free radicals in body. But if you have heart issues, stay away from them.

Therefore, when the doctor in above video says eat meat, egg and fat as much as possible, I want to believe him. He says that the diet should contain 15% carbs, 15% proteins and 70% saturated fat. I don't know that guy, but I love the guy, at first sight.
Iam not a doctor but very cautious regarding health as there is cardiovascular disease, diabetics, cancer etc in father's family. I would like to suggest a book named "EAT TO LIVE" for you to read. It is available in flipkart.

Also many physicians recommend basic health checkup once a year after you cross 30. We are living in a highly polluted stressful environment which makes it easy for these "life style" diseases to catch up with us easily.

Your comments would indicate that the chemicals in artificial sweeteners are not harmful to diabetics, but will only harm normal people.

No, it's lesser of the two evils. Overdose of real sugar could actually kill diabetics, but not a healthy person.

My wife and I looked at our families. Lot of old people in both our families lived to their 90s while consuming lots of ghee, fish, egg, chicken and coconut oil. But my in-laws are very careful in their eating, yet not keeping great health. My parents on the other hand are 15 years older than my in-laws, eat ghee/fish/coconut oil/honey in ample quantity, but are in good health. So we switched to cold pressed coconut oil since last month. No more refined oil for us.

Once a year after 30? I am no doctor either, but I feel that is excess. I am 44 and still don't feel the need. I have been exercising since 29 years, so I am still physical fit.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Can someone suggest a good doctor for my mom to consult for diabetics. We live in Bangalore. It would be preferable if the doctor is located in and around Bannerghatta road, Jayanagar and sorrounding areas. If it is inappropriate to mention the name on the forum, then please pm me.
Thanks in advance.

We quit sunflower oil and switched to olive oil and mustard oil (as applicable for different preparations) a few years ago - this was after ALL of us came down with frank or borderline diabetes, including my (then 12-y-o) daughter, who was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome.

This is why we quit sunflower oil: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supple...UNFLOWER%20OIL (go to the *SIDE EFFECTS* tab)
Quote:
Diabetes: A diet that is high in sunflower oil seems to increase fastinginsulin and blood sugar levels. It also seems to increase after-meal blood fats. This might increase the chance of developing “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis) in people with type 2 diabetes.
Also see: http://www.livestrong.com/article/33...sunflower-oil/

There's a fair amount of medical literature too, that I am unable to link to for copyright reasons.

What about the erucic acid in mustard oil - it's considered to be toxic? Is that a myth? Any particular brand of mustard oil you prefer?

Is rice barn oil refined?

How do you get cold pressed coconut oil? I've also read good about them. Is it the one we get from the local copra extractor?
