That's a really cool looking piece. I especially like the night view of the luminor.

Those who appreciate fine watches can find an awesome channel on Youtube called "The Prodigal Guide". Most of my knowledge of watch brands comes from them, since such watches are well out of my capacity I find they explain the features, heritage & mechanical stuff like movements very well, so much so that I feel I'm actually handling the watches. Some brands of watches they've reviewed include Hublot, JLC Reverso, FC, NOMOS, IWC & Vacheron Constantin. Impeccable pronunciation of the brand names is only a plus.

To me look-wise the following brands are the top 5 in the luxury watch category.. I've given importance to heritage, subtle looks and precise movements :
1.JLC
2.A Lange & Sohne
3.Patek Philippe
4.IWC
5.NOMOS Glashutte

@Rohan really nice watch there, I just realized Panerai is made in Switzerland, I assumed it was made in its home country of Italy.

Wife just gave me my Birthday present! :) Time to go to Toit to celebrate!

I am not a watch enthusiast, I own a few Swatches, a few Casios, a citizen ecodrive, a fossil but after I bought my favourite watch SKAGEN, Titanium 809XLTBN, I almost stopped wearing any other watch.

I was inspired by you and bought the same watch. For some time I was looking for Black watch, metal strap with blue dial. It is a rare combo only Skagen seems to have it. :)

Sorry for the poor quality photo. Taken with mobile phone.

Very nice, I like the Skagen range. Got one myself too.
Enjoy

Had posted this in Feb in the photography thread. A Citizen Ecodrive which I got last year end. (All black)

My latest acquisition

I think its off the chart. Had got it over a year end sale on Amazon. Original price was about 550$(I think) and I got for about 360$.

Can anybody recommend a good analog watch with leather straps? Budget strictly under 5k. Less than 40mm would be perfect!

Yup, you are right. This particular model is not avaiable any more, but a similar one is:

Time to call in some favours from my dear elder sister in the US lol:

I was looking between the one which you pointed to vs the all black/gray dial. And I settled with the gray dial instead of the brighter one. Love the build. Very nicely done.

Perchance this comes with a leather strap as an option?
