I'm not much of a watch guy, but always wanted to own a HMT. Finally ordered one with the Pilot olive coloured dial. |
If you have ordered from HMT website, you are in for a surprise. The new blue and green pilot watches are Sunburst dials, no longer matte like in your photo. This photo is from a Facebook page shared by a collector. I love my sunburst blue pilot, hope you would like yours too.

Found this in my scrap. Working fine.
Is it worth anything or truly belong to scrap ? :Frustrati
Just received mine. Looks awesome.
Now waiting for the Vijay model. It's been out of stock for a long time.

Red’s picture above made me look back into Casio. I wondered over their website and got lost in the vintage watch section. I got two watches from them. This year will be the year of Casio for me.
Before I post the picture, one thing needs to be said: Casio’s delivery time was terrible. I expected some delay considering the heavy monsoon and ongoing covid, but it took them 9 days to deliver from Pune to Bombay. And that includes 3 days sitting in Bombay warehouse. The courier partner was delhivery, who do not have any phone support anymore.
Back to watches… for some time my beater watch has been Hamilton Khakhi field and I really like it. It does all I need for a good day to day use. But finally looking at the Casio gshock which would fit my wrist and not look like a oversized Rakhi made me tempted to get one. Which I did… this will be my new beater: Gn-2100.
While browsing the vintage section, I came across the new look of the classic calculator watch (CA-53w). It basically the exact same watch with better water resistance built and a negative display, which is not that good as visibility is reduced. But a watch I can easily wear while working in a well lit room without any trouble. I got it in blue.
So here are all three of them in one picture.

Has a nice rusty, vintage charm to it. Why not slap a nice strap and use it or pass it on to your son or someone who likes watches? Must be old?
Old .. must be quite old when foreign made wrist watches were rare in India and my relatives visiting from UK would dump their old things here.
So far I do not see anyone who would use this. Will have to find someone who could realuze its true value.
Hi , What approximate discount one could expect for TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 43mm ? Especially the new ones. Thanks !
Need some info. and advice from the Watch enthusiasts on this forum regarding the attached Watch Pics. It is an Omega Constellation Automatic Watch that was used by my Uncle, who is now no more. Since it was not working, my Aunt visited C.T. Pundole Watch Store to get it repaired, and got an estimate of 27k to repair it. It looks pretty beat up. What would be the market price of this Watch. Though, i think this is an Old Watch and it might not be in the Market for purchase. C.T. Pundole agreed to purchase it at ~11k.
Just wondering what's the best way to sort this out.

I would suggest checking with a couple of more shops, if it can be repaired for a more reasonable amount.
This one is in the same area as C.T.Pundole:

Probably after HMT Pilot (Black dial) this is my favorite watch from the house of HMT!
HMT Karna:
Looks elegant on the wrist:
and here is a short review of the watch:

Here's told ol' faithful. This month is rather special for my very first eco-drive watch. It turns 21 years old post assembly at the factory in Japan.
It has now been with me for nearly 2 decades since purchase with the same battery & same gasket. It has never been opened. Still ticks away as faithfully as ever.
The watch stopped once this year due to my neglect. It was kept in a drawer and I forgot to expose it to daylight to maintain the charge in its battery AKA "capacitor". Half hour in the Sun got it ticking again. I took it to the dealer to ask him if this piece needed a battery/cap replacement he said no, just keep it in day light or under table lamp during the monsoons and it'll be good to go. If it stops despite exposure to light then it could need a replacement battery. This is when he told me about the manufacturing month and year that can be decoded from the serial number.
Love these eco-drive watches. Citizen claims these batteries have a life of up to 40 years (!!) and with a 20% reduction in capacity every 2 decades. Impressive to say the least. If you have an eco-drive expose it to light on a daily basis or as frequently as possible. Storing it in a wardrobe or case spells death as the battery deteriorates rapidly in a discharged state. Most watches eco-drive batteries last anywhere between 10-20 years if taken care of.
let me share a few !
this one is probably my most quirky - its the Vostok Komandirskie 24 Hour Dial, it takes a moment to get used to the 24 dial.
the Air King, probably the most busy Rolex dial.
The 'CasiOak' that may or may not look a little bit like the Royal Oak lol:
The Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope, I'm a sucker for the bauhaus design school
a Longines Spirit Chronograph Master
one of the newer OPs
a GMT seamaster (I dislike GMT watches since they don't work in India, but I loved the dial)
My daily wearer - the classic speedy !
the Sumo "Hulk" from Seiko - how can you resist that green.

True what they say- you learn something new every day. The 24-hour clock is quite a concept!
Does anyone of you wear both a traditional watch AND a fitness band on different hands?
