In my opinion, the dominance of color is to do with how people will perceive the photograph than what is actually on it.

I am a novice and never had any formal training or course but here are my thoughts for what they are worth - dominant colour is subjective. It could meen the number of pixels the colour covers in it's various shades, or it could mean the colour that leaps up at you. It would be the colour that dominates the viewer's mind. That said, the pictures I uploaded confirms to samurai san's definition because, that was mentioned as the definition of Dominant Colour theme right at the out set.

Thanks,

Krishna, when I set the theme, I gave the following ground rules.

To be dominant, it has to be bigger, right now it occupies less than 1/10th of the frame. This is no different from white flower in the middle of green grass.

None of us are formally trained here, except may be couple of professionals. The dominant color concept is not really subjective, I didn't make it up. It is a well understood theme, often seen in different competitions.

Yes agreed and understood. Since I was/ am not aware of these facts, I tried and cooked up some definition . So, are my posts valid? I am concerned more for the beach and the yellow Saree photos.

White aircraft on white cloud should qualify, although it is a little borderline since much of the aircraft looks grey.

Here are two more.

Malpe beach, first one using Nokia N73 and second one using Sony Cybershot F-717.

Not sure if this is good for this theme! Does it qualify for participation?

Shot today. Old rusty screws on tiled roof, against the setting sun.
