Re: I wish I never bought that!

I wish i had never fallen prey to the carnivores (read rupeevores) at Country Club and Vacations. A little form at Big Bazaar, a call to the local office, a 45 minute trapeze show by the sales people, and i stupidly paid them 45,000/- for a 5 yr contract to stay at any of their properties across the country, besides Rs 4k of maintenance charges. i have already paid the M charges twice, but the response is what you will get when you contact a call centre of any indian company. i cant even tell you people what i went through.

i just let go of the 45k and reconciled with life.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

Hi, sorry to hear about this, hope your active feedback in forums like tbhp will save many others.
I just went for their presentation last month, did not buy their product but they have given a holiday gift voucher which entails 7 days acco by paying Rs 4000. I was thinking I will use it for a trip to goa. Is there any issue in availing this without signingup for the Rs 45k vacation membership?

Re: I wish I never bought that!

Brought a Firefox fusion few years back, thinking that I will use it for office-home commute. Though I still use it for office-home commute once in a while, I have never used the cycle to its true potential - I could very well have brought any Hero\BSA\XYZ brand for my kind of use. No regret on buying it, but when i see the cycle gathering dust I feel a bit of pain that I never did justice to the purchase.

OT: Still regret on something I did not purchase - went to a friends home in Kerala years back and saw his beautifully cared for MM 540, which was in a very good shape. Thinking that he will not be interested in selling it, never told him my interest in buying it. Few months later, he told me that he sold it and brought a Marshal. He sold it for a really mouthwatering price which I could have easily afforded - I still regret the decision of not letting him know my interest.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

Many moons ago, I once bought a Supercomp TV tuner. Dont remember how much I paid for it, but I had accompanied a friend for some computer purchase of his, and got conned (:P) into buying that thing.
No idea how it works. Or why it does when it does. Catches only 10-11 channels when it works after a lot of fiddling.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

Last year spent about 500 Euros and bought a prescription glasses but never wore them till date. It was just like money thrown in the basket. I get headache when I wear them continuously for more than an hour or two.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

In late 2006 we were looking for a hatchback. Had to be less than 3.50 lakh on road as that's all dad could afford.

We were hunting for the car, came across two options, Santro and Swift. I didn't like swift at all and we were paying some 4 lakh plus for it. My dad and brother wanted to buy swift as it was an upgrade of 85k. while i was rooting for Santro.

Showed them a difference of approx 120k rupees between the two after discounts and m800 exchange and my dad agreed reluctantly for santro.

I was happy but deep inside me, i initially thought and wished that i hadn't bought the santro and gone for swift instead, just for dad's happiness. But as we started using santro, my dad started loving it, and is now love of his life. When we got our second, he insisted on Hyundai(i20) and when i told him to get rid of Santro, he said, it will stay. Now i don't feel that bad, but those first 6-7 months were real bad for me.

You will be amazed Vindywheels...just google for country club complaints and you will know. Even though they have given you a free voucher, there are various catches: the kind of room that can be given to you, there will most probably be a date criteria / month criteria, lot of goodies normally free (pick up, lunch, third member (child), etc are not available. If you want to change after paying they will not refund you. Even if you cancel. I suggest you forget about it.

In comparison, Mahindra Holidays membership is a dream come true for vacationers. I know of a colleague who took the gift voucher of Mahindra and got treated like a king.

Google to get a more wider opinion. Best of luck.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

Didn't feel that about any of the cars, but quite a few other things I deeply regretted buying:

- HH Passion Plus - 100cc just wasn't enough for me. Handled much better than the Splendors and CT100s though.
- Bullet 350 Std - don't get me started on this one
- HTC P4350 (Windows Mobile phone) - 20K for this dumb phone, kept freezing and the resistive touchscreen died. What was I thinking, buying this!
- Unbranded DVD player - conked out in no time
- TV Tuner card for my PC - was never satisfied with it. Should have put in a bit more and bought a small TV for my bedroom
- Sony PSP - I never use it after getting the iPhone. Wish I hadn't bought it.
- Nikon L19 - bought it just because I got a good deal, but the picture quality really really sucks especially in low light
- Subwoofers - I bought them just because everyone does, but later realized that I'm not a "bass" person at all. I like my music calm and not "boom boom".
... and lots more.

Re: I wish I never bought that!

I bought a pair of expensive Rayban sunglasses last year because they looked cool, they were unfortunately too big for my face and kept on slipping which was very uncomfortable.

The most useless product you've ever tried

Guys. searched through the forum but couldn't find such a topic so thought of sharing my frustration with one of the most useless product I ever spent my bucks on.

Couple of days back in the office, some jerk happened to rub a fistful of dirt on my car's bonnet. Result, two ugly scratches (extending from the left headlight to the right) visible to only those having a special relationship with their set of wheels.

Today, finally got down to setting things right. Took out "Formual 1 Scratch Out" in the hope of getting my beauty back in pristine shape but what a let down it was. Followed the instructions all the way and tried twice, but the result was the same. No improvement. Could still discern the hideous scars. What a waste of time, effort and money!!

Guys do share any worthless product that you might have tried.

Re: The most useless product you've ever tried

Correct me if I am wrong here but isn't the Formual 1 Scratch out help in hair line scratches? It also depends on how deep is the scratch on the bonnet.

Coming back to the topic, I got a Headlight restoration polish from Mag's and its did not do the job :(

Re: The most useless product you've ever tried

I had converted the credit card points to cash and shopped for a portable vacuum cleaner on rediff. The darn thing worked for 15 minutes and conked off. From then on, I don't convert my points,I just use it up to pay the bill.
