Please Help in Saving AP's Forests and Wildlife

On the way via NH7 we come across Sriramsagar Pochampad near Nirmal, then Kadam dam on the way to Kawal. Kuntala falls is in the area too, about 40 kms from Kadam

Sad to hear about the incident. Our trip can always wait, hope the affected people and families get some kind of support/compensation from the Govt.

Deepka ji, I will give the confirmations by Friday morning. So what kind of accomodations are available for everyone? and approx. how much travel and time? Would be great if someone can draw on the map, the places and routes.

I don't have much idea about the places being discussed.

Just concerned that will this Telangana agitation be of any problem, esp. since Adilabad dist. has been a hotbed of this agitation?

Saleem, the Telangana agitation has kind of cooled down a lot & I don't think this would affect our planned trip as we see no major development in the Telangana agitation & no news from any political party calling for a rally or something of that sort.

Good if it has cooled down. Just that suddenly something happens and things get heated up. There's a bit of uncertainity involved these days. But I would love to visit these places for the sheer beauty of the forests, as I saw on some websites.

It is sad what happened at Gundem yesterday.

We will keep Srisailam on our near future travel itinerary.

Deepak as the capitan will ensure that we land up at the best AP has to offer, Pochampad project (presently known as Sri Ram Sagar) as it was known when I was 6 years old. It rekindles distant fond memories, as my father was working for PWD and was very active during the construction of that dam and also Kadam.

Pochampad, I visited this place as a kid. Now my daughter is 6 and my son 3...if we happen by this place it will be after a full generation gap. Looking forward to Kawal and Pochampad .

Here's the plan as per consultations with Jannaram DFO (Kawal):

We leave Saturday 6 am
Reach Mancherial via Siddipet and Karimnagar
Have lunch and book rooms at local lodges/guest houses
Head to Jannaram
Visit Kawal sanctuary till evening
Head back to Mancherial for the night
Return to Jannaram early morning again
Wildlife sighting at Kawal again
Head to Nirmal via Kadam for breakfast
Visit Kuntala falls
Have lunch at Nirmal
Visit Pochampad
Drive back to Hyderabad

Is this okay? The DFO recommends staying at Mancherial and its also a slightly shorter route as compared to Nirmal. For our return we can come through Nirmal
