I wasn't referring to test matches. I was talking about Cricket, in general, Sir.

Sehwag's test-match records are actually pretty good. 22 centuries, and 2 massive triple-centuries, and of course, that 290 that he scored not too long ago. In fact, he has a very healthy average of 53 in tests and a strike-rate of 82! And all this, even though he was left out of the test-match squad for a while. However, his ODI record, in comparison, is dismal. Sure, the strike rate is 104, but Cricket isn't all about strike-rate.

And Yuvraj, in fact, is a more accomplished batsman than Sehwag, in ODIs. Nay, a more accomplished Cricketer. Considering bowling figures, and even their age.

Sehwag did, however, make a comeback. And that's the point I was getting at.

Yuvraj can do the same. I only hope he matures as a Cricketer. It's apparent that he hasn't. yet.

Re: The Cricket Thread

I disagree that Shewag is just an ordinary ODI player. He has great hand eye coordination that even Viv Richards fail to match. Each one has some potential otherwise he would not have stayed so long in the squad.

Saw Irfan Pathan bowling in a Ranji game a couple of weeks back. He is taking bucket full of wickets, but is bowling at an avg speed of 115kmph.

I am afraid the selectors will look at the number of wickets and consider bringing him back.

It may not be the worst idea. They could try him out in a few games. But it's pacers who we really require in our team. And we've found two of them Aaron and Yadav. Let's hope they bring home the goods.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Rampaul's 86 was a real shocker Quite a jump from 170/9 to 269/9!

Brilliant batting from Virat and Rohit. Ashwin was a bit off today.

Re: The Cricket Thread

My Bet is on Sehwag's double hundred and MORE. Sachin set the path for this marauder to emulate. Go Sehwag, he actually has time to get a triple.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Luck is on his side today. Sehwag should complete the double ton today. A golden chance for him to be in the record books.

Re: The Cricket Thread

I am sure he will do it in style and will set a record that will take a long long time to beat. You can see that he is having fun and not serious.
