Re: The Cricket Thread

This was the luckiest century I've seen in a while. Good for the kid

Also, have we seen the last of Jimmy Anderson ?

Re: The Cricket Thread

This Rishab Pant has zero intelligence on the cricket field. Absolutely none.

Re: The Cricket Thread

What a comeback by Australia with centuries from Smith and Wade, lead by 303+ and still have 5 wickets remaining. Australia is definitely in the driving seat now in this Test
---
India - WI T20
India playing well, hope Rohit and Kohli can help get 200+
Edit,:spoke too early, 4 down now and 200 no more seems possible!

They should declare 10 overs remaining. Will be a great win if aussies can manage it.

Rohit played a good hand today. Let's hope we make 180 at least.

On a side note Pant is as dumb as it comes.

Re: The Cricket Thread

398 runs to win for England and they've a difficult time to deal through today and try drawing the match tomorrow. Winning is just out of the equation IMO. If they do win it'll only be a miracle. Australia firmly in the driver's seat now.

Re: The Cricket Thread

No chance of England winning on this track. Lyon will be licking his fingers

England are not the type of team that I expect to bat out a full day + 7 overs for a draw.

My prediction = Australia will win just after tea tomorrow.

Re: The Cricket Thread

England bundled out for 146 and Australia win by 251 runs
Lyon with 6 wickets and Cummins with 4 shared the honours to wipe England out.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Sad to see Steyn go. He was the best bowler I've seen live on TV. Better than Anderson, way better than anyone in his era. He was never a great bowler in limited over, but there's nothing more menacing than Dale Steyn with a red ball. Mitchell Johnson probably had some moments of brilliance, but Dale Steyn did it over his career.

Goodbye Steyn.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Shubman Gill had a great outing for India A Vs West Indies A and got a double century in the third unofficial test. I hope he will be able to make his way into the senior ODI team in due course and take the #4 position that has been a troublesome spot to fill.

The way Shreyas has been batting in this ODI, he looks a perfect #4. Unfortunately, neither Iyer nor Gill roll their arm over.

I think that's ok. At number 4 we can afford someone who is a good batsman but doesn't bowl.
We just need to find someone in 5 and 6 who can bat and bowl reasonably well.

If we have two bowlers at 8 and 9 who can bat like Jadeja and bhuvi then I think the batting will be decent enough.

One of the all rounders will be Hardik. Who will be the other?

One of the top 6 has to bowl, even if part time. If we have the top 3 batters, Iyer, Pant, Pandya, Pandya and then 4 regular bowlers it should be good. But for that Krunal will have to up his batting skills by a notch.

I think kedar to be better than krunal while batting. Not sure of the bowling though. But yeah kedar is not a world cup timeline solution. So we need to look elsewhere.
BTW Hardik was missed today.

Re: The Cricket Thread

What happened to Rohit swinging his arms for some spin? I mean Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly all could pitch in and bowled pretty decently (understatement IMO).

Heck I say let even Kohli try it
He did bowl in under 19 WC.
