I have to cram my feet into size 13 (US) coz thats the biggest size available, that too if I search hard! I had been comfortably wearing size 14 Reeboks that i got from outside india three years back. But sadly, now their sole had started to come off and besides, i was getting bored with them as well.
After trying numerous places, finally found a shop where i got to try out some size 13s. So, picked up two pairs, both Nike. One is Air Max something and the other i dont even know. But, if the shoe fits, then i will wear it, as i dont have a choice.
Whoa! And I thought I was cursed. US13 fits me, thankfully.

Extremely comfortable and a delight while running.
Cost - 7999 INR.
My current running shoe is the Adidas Megabounce DLX. An upgrade from my 'bounce'. Yeah, a fantastic running shoe. But, my weight and my flat-foot not helping, I get ankle aches if I push 6.5 kmph.

I don't think so. Haven't seen them ever in any showroom in India. Procured this pair from the US after much hunting because I wanted this particular colour combination!

Yup! Till I rake in the moolah to buy the cars, I'll have to make do with the shoes!

Oakley S.I.L.K.

My absolute favorite, have abused it on the bike and in all kinds of terrain. It didnt even bat an eyelid. By far the best shoes I ever bought. PERIOD.

Got them at a amazing discount at Shoe Tree Pune ICC around 5k INR.

Alpinestars SMX Plus

They are a saviour. My riding boots, have accompanied me through mud and slush over in Dhanoulti - Mussorie to Canyon Craving sundays in Pune. I would reccomend them for their build and sturdyness, although I dont feel they are the most comfortable/lightest out there. I might switch to SupertechR / Puma / SiDi when I have the $$$

Bought for 18k INR DSG Pune.

He is actually partly right. I am a qualified podiatrist and shoes do lose structure. Its more so with running shoes if you run decent distances (change every 350 miles) Shoes should be changed every 6 months if you walk 4 to 5 miles a day. With running shoes the shock abosrption areas can lose functionality and this can impact on your gait cycle, leading to damage to osseus structures. I doubt many people actually do change shoes or trainers according to these intervals. I used the same running shoes for 2 years once and was doing 6 to 9 miles a day in them (every day), now got crepitus in my knee joints which may be a result of this.

Never buy cheap shoes and never treat lace-ups as slip on shoes.

Can you elaborate the reason why?

The laces are there to adjust the fit of the shoes to your feet. Using as slip on results in a compromised fit and also messes the heel counter up as you lever your foot in. This increases the risk of shearing, frictional and torsional stress on your feet. Such stresses lead to callus (hard skin) formation and can lead to painful corns developing.
