VW's 8 Seater MPV - Transporter Shuttle?

Yesterday on my way back from Chennai spotted a VW 8 seater MPV somewhere before krishnagiri with no badges at the rear and a weird yellow board. Is it the VW Transporter Shuttle? It was looking more like a Wagon R in my ORVM. Sorry for the pic quality as it was shot @ around 90+kmh with my mobile.

Indeed it seems to be a VW Transporter.

The yellow plates you mention are because the car belongs to a CONSULATE. (I've merged it into the appropriate thread).

No idea why badges were missing -- perhaps something to do with the import into India ?

S550 Brabus spotted in Mumbai. Is it allowed to use the original country registration for temporary consulate visits? Hence the Dubai registration?

This car is not a consulate car, nor for temporary consulte visits but on Carnet by the owner. There are pictures of this car as well as other carnet cars from all over India on the forum itself.

Hard times or a practical move, given our traffic conditions? You decide.
Just spotted a white Honda Activa with 4CC consulate plates going towards Lilavati. Found it really hilarious.

Re: Various Embassy & Consulate Vehicles!

It is not a Peru embassy car - It is the Honorary Consul who is the local rep for Peru. Normally the local government doles these out to local businessmen. In return, they get to put a fancy number plate and park in VIP sections of the airport. Oh they need to throw a party when the ambassador is in town.

Spotted a silver Jaguar XF near MG road on the weekend with yellow CC plates. It had the Swiss Insignia on the plates as well. Sorry no pic.
