Wish I had the cash now man,
I had the exact same feeling when Rob wanted to sell the Zed, thankfully for me, i got an acquaintance of mine to buy it from RT, so it is quite around me

Just got back from a short spin on the Ace, and I love it.

The end to this saga couldn't have come in better fashion, I have passed the Ace to a very enthusiastic and inclined couple.
They have a Comet, and the guy seems to have decent experience on Indian bikes, so he should gradually be perfect with the Thunderace as he already knows most of the basic stuff.
The good part of the sale is that Rahul stays quite around my place, so I would definitely be seeing the Ace on and off, and I will ask him to continue this thread in his spare time.
I really think the Thunderace has made its way into a good home. Farewell my Ace, take care!

Nice touch Manson, sounds like you were giving your child for adoption.

So time to change your avatar pic and tell us whats on the cards for the Ace replacement.

All of you know how emotional it can get to part with a vehicle thats been a 'high priority' part of your life, the almost two years ihad it for feel like a few months.
My 16 month old nephew can chant 'bike bike bike' for a really long time looking at the Thunderace from my bedroom window, he probably realised that its gone when Rahul and his wife rode it out of my place.
If nothing else I'd get another bike only to hear him chant!

So she's left huh. Always sad to part with your prize possessions. So which direction are you looking at? Do consider Kawas 14R, 12R, 10R are killer options

Its been two whole years since I had brought the Thunderace home, and I realised that only a few minutes ago. The evening of 15-01-2007 was a big one.
As luck would have it though, Rahul and I caught up a couple of hours back at Reclamation, and a a couple of other friends came around too.
There it stood below the street lamp, and it looked as good as it always did. Rahul has taken super care of it, and I could not resist a spin. Rahul obliged.
So the Ace and I went around for a reclamation spin, and I felt I was back home. From moment I sat on the bike, for the first few moments it felt like sitting IN a bike compared the the Fireblade, felt different too. Less than a minute, couple of bumps, empty stretch, the nice long reclamation curve and I literally took off, I was reunited for those few minutes.
Came back down the flyover, and I just had to take it for another spin. It was just awesome, and maybe in a couple of days I may just find better words to put down the reuniting experience.

Very nicely put Manson. Can you believe it, I feel sad whenever I go thru this thread that the Ace is not with you anymore. I wish the new CBR treats you as well as the Ace did and I have the moolah whenever you plan the next upgrade
