As i did mention before, its a riders choice..none of us have the time to go chasing and asking people to wear gear..they would just look at one with the you gone mad look or just ride on. The helmet law was enforced but one can see the police itself does not follow it.

As you mentioned it all depends on travel time..that the gear is chosen. Basics need to be there (helmet and shoes).

Yup. Not saying a thing to you if you thought so.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

I am guessing thats your Z800, right Sojogator? Did read a thread on Xbhp on someone who just got delivery of his green Z800. Was it you?

If so, congratulations!!! Looking forward to a new thread with review and lots of pics. I am still awaiting delivery of mine. It seems the black/green Z800 is out of stock and the next lot will be imported in the first week of April - post which mine will be delivered. The wait is killing me!

Here you have a perfect example of someone who clearly does not have enough respect for the bike he's riding. I can't imagine what would happen to him with even the slightest fall on such a heavy bike without any kind of protective gear

And this is not off topic, because it is a Superbike spotted in India after all

Hahahaha! Calssic example of what I was referring to! Sadly, the idea of ATGATT catching up with the aam janta is a long way away!

OT - It has been proven many a times that gears as basic as a mesh jacket and a pair of gloves will save your skin even from some of the nastiest falls that you may have. And, I'm not including the helmet in this because HELMETS ARE MANDATORY even if you are going to the nearby grocery store.
But, nothing can and will be forced upon anyone.

I beg to differ..nothing is bomb proof. My friend had a crash wearing the Astars one piece suit doing a 100 on the highway no fault of his but broke his little finger on the wrist and fractured the l5 on the spine. Another friend again in full suit, broke the wrist bone on the left arm and fore arm bone on the right. The protective gear just helps in reducing the extent of injury depending on how one falls..it does not save anything. Ita a misconception one has that a suit or jacket save the rider..if something has to happen it will no matter the amount of gear worn.

As Sojogator mentioned lets stick to the topic.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Guys, at least the TBHP members, please stop this discussion or pointing finger every time you spot a person on super-bike without gear. It is pointless.

The relevant point is, it does not matter if you are on 1000 cc or 100 cc, if you fall, the body is same, the impact is same.

@V12, just wanted to know since you would be getting delivery of your bike in April, would you still be paying the discounted price or would they be charging the old rate? The Z800 is wreaking havoc in my mind by calling me aloud all the time. I have been trying to hold myself back since the last two days somehow. Might not able to wait for a long time.

Hi Coolrain,

The discounted price is valid if you book the bike before 31st March. Mine was booked in Feb and I got it at the discounted rate. The delivery is delayed since the black/green color is not in stock.

You still have 4 days to make up your mind

Thanks guys for the wonderful share of this monster bike.

While I know the Capital region has some rare & exotic bikes like this, I keep wondering how long it takes for the RTO to register these 'new names' in their system there.

In Bangalore for example, before Triumph's official entry into India, our member Ram spent a good 2 months before just getting the model 'Bonneville T100' entered into the RTO system (registration comes only after that). Same story with another model of a direct import Harley.
