Superbikes spotted in India

Benelli seem to be keen on promoting the sales of their lineup. A camp was held at Mysore today. Test rides of the 300 and the GT were offered. 600 had a very loud IXIL exhaust, and I guess that was the reason they refrained from offering rides.

Saw a brand new BMW R 1200 GS in Bangalore. Not yet registered. Came to know that 4 of these bikes have been imported directly from Germany, very recently.

I know 4 friends who have booked these together and have been promised delivery on or before Aug 21st. May be the same set.

Interesting to see so many premium bikes are sold in the Indian market and shocking to see no buyers for Yamaha and Honda. But I see a lot of used R1's and CBR's for sale in the used market and there is demand as well.A friend bought 2010 R1 last week. Is it something to do with the After Sales n Service?

I think its because they have priced their bike astronomically for no reason (R1 was launched at 10.5 and I the previous gen crossplane was 18lakhs) and availability of choice!

Those bikes you see for sale are mostly grey market.
